while driveing engine light comes, truck loses power
This problem occurred twice in 21 days. On both I was driving freeway speeds in the early morning. The truck lost power and slowed to about 35 mph on the freeway. The engine and the Electronic Throttle Control lights came on. Luckily it was 5 in the morning and the traffic was very light. I barely made it to the dealer on both occasions. The diagnostic code was P0234. Turbocharger overboost. The ECM was re-flashed as the fix. I suspect there is something mechanical causing this code to be generated. Otherwise why would this happen twice in the span of 21 days. I traded in a perfectly good 2008 Toyota Tacoma for this RAM that I am starting to regret. The Tacoma never spent a single day in the shop except for regular scheduled maintenance. I bought the RAM to be a homeowners work truck and to tow a boat. What if this happens while I am towing, launching, recovering or carrying a load of top soil? In my opinion reflashing the ECM is not cause only a fix. I AM 100% unhappy. If this happens again, I will trade this truck in for something else.

FCA required V08 recall was completed and their AEM installed to the PCM/tcm. I picked my truck up and immediately noticed it was down on power. Since that time, I have lost 4-5mpg average over what I was getting before the AEM was installed. The truck is overall down on power since the AEM was installed. As well the truck is dangerous to drive until the coolant temp reaches at least 150 degrees F. the truck has no power when the engine is below 150F and can't get out of its own way and leaves me vulnerable to a collision due to turbo lag and lack of power. If I pull into traffic to merge or cross an intersection my fear is I will not be able to accelerate quickly enough or avoid an accident should I need to.
