I have the Ram ecodiesel 2015 model. It always had a slight hesitation in the accelerator which I consider normal. After having the software update for the emissions standards I now have a 3-5 second delay in acceleration which has caused me several times to almost be involved in accidents

Post aem update there is a severe lag in throttle response. After leaving the dealership/recall update I almost caused an accident due to the slow response after pressing the throttle to the floor. The truck just sat there for a few seconds before slowly moving. When trying to get up to speed to merge onto interstate, pre recall update, the truck was quick to shift and gain speed. Today it had a hard time getting up to 65, even when accelerator pushed to the floor. I was very nervous that the semi truck coming up behind me was going to rear ended me. It seems as if the recall update both changed response time in acceleration and the shifting patterns of the truck. Both of which have made my truck unreliable and dangerous to drive. The recall update was performed yesterday, July 2. I have never had any issues with acceleration previously. I spoke with the dealership, was told there was nothing they could do. I filed a complaint with fca case # 59112985. Thru will 'look into it'. I have read in a number of forums that I am not alone with this complaint. There are now a number of people driving vehicles that suddenly do not preform as they once did. When you are used to a vehicle to have some get up and go when accelerating you drive it as such, then suddenly you find that your get up and go, up and left, too late causing you to be a slow moving/delayed danger to yourself and others.

Was driving down a highway and all the warning lights lit up like a christmas tree on the dash. Then the vehicle started to slow down by itself and then started to take off by itself. As I was slowing down it leaped forward into oncoming traffic when I was trying to turn off the highway. This is the second time this has happened with this vehicle. The first time this happened the dealership couldn't make it repeat so they sent me on my way with no resolution. This time, I got an extreme amount of attitude from the dealership saying I was causing the problems and that I didn't want any help after they mentioned they were going to charge me. I'm surprised they let me have that truck back as dangerous as it is but they certainly did. This thing is like a time-bomb. Just waiting for the next incident and there certainly will be one. They would not let me have the paperwork this last time because I would not sign it.

On 3 different times my accelerator pedal has gotten stuck and accelerating to about 90 plus mph while driving. I had to stomp on it several times to get it unstuck while riding the brake, I have read where other people have had the same problem as mine. However the Dodge dealer said they have not gotten any recalls on this problem and can not do anything for me until there is a recall. So paying out my pocket to replace the throttle body before I am in and accident and injury or kill someone and or myself. Thankfully there wasn't a school bus dropping or picking up kids because I had go around vehicles as my Ram truck accelerated on it's own after releasing the accelerator pedal.

Twice with in a period of three weeks the same issue/failure has occured. "service electronic throttle control". both times the issue occured during rush hour traffic, at freewat speeds, while driving on a freeway. Bith occurences resilyed in total loss of acceleration. I was left with limited ability to manuever on the freeway, to the right lanes, as well as limited ability to maneuver and avoid traffic from behind, as well to switch lanes to exit the freeway safely. Once exited he vehicle would only reach a top speed of 39mph. Bith times the dealership reported the issue as an egr valve problem.

Issue: Vehicle shifted out of park into reverse while idling with driver door opened. Truck began to roll backwards on a flat grade and hit a Honda civic in the rear bumper with the opened drivers door which folded back onto the front drivers fender. Know one was in either vehicle and no injuries occurred. This happened on the shoulder of a residential street. I got out of the truck (vehicle running) walked up the sidewalk to the home heard a crunch, looked back and saw the vehicles together. I was away from the vehicle at lease 3 minutes before the accident. The truck was parked ciddy corner to the rear of the Honda approximately 10 feet away from each other. I would have known immediately if the truck was in reverse after getting out of it as it would have been moving. It wasn't until a minute or two that it began to move into reverse. It went back 10 feet and was stopped with the drivers door hooked onto the rear bumper of the civic. This issue is due to a bad control dial on the dash in my opinion.

I have had multiple issues with my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel gas pedal getting stuck. First time was on 7/07/17. I wanted to make a left turn on a stop sign. As I touched the pedal with my foot, it sunk to the bottom and the truck started accelerating like crazy, the tires squeaked and the truck tilted to the left. The rmp went up to 3 and the lightning bolt message lit up. I thought we would flip or crash into something but luckily I managed to get the truck under control and ended up on the side of the road. Put the truck in park as the pedal stayed in the sinking position. Had my four children with me in the truck, they all started crying hysterically and kept asking, "mom what is going on with our truck"" about 3 min. Later it was released. Brought the truck to the dealership and got the accelerator sensor replaced. The same problem repeated on 7/16/17. This time on a highway while driving at about 60mph. Brought back to the same dealership, was told that they could not duplicate the problem. Was asked to take a picture or video if the problem occurs again. Are they serious? how can you do that when you are trying to get your vehicle under control and are scared for your life" same issue on 8/15/17 as we came out of a driveway unto a windy road at about 15mph. The vehicle accelerated like crazy almost causing us to hit the guardrail on the side. Good thing there was no oncoming traffic and we managed to stop the truck on the side of the road. The truck is back at the dealership. They want me to come and pick it up but I am scared for my life to drive in it. They suggested that I come and drive it with a tech. Hoping it would duplicate. There is nothing specific that causes it to happen. It just happens out of nowhere, no specific speed, place or time. I just want a safe car for my family. I have 4 children that drive with me every day, can't risk their lives.

My 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel has lost function of the gas pedal three times. Each time the loss is preceded with a "service electronic throttle control" message. The local dealership has not been able to address the problem in the first 2 service attempts and the issue has occurred within 200 driving miles, mostly highway. The first 2 times this has happened the vehicle has been driving on city streets, moving under 30mph and generally decelerating under braking. The 3rd time this occurred I was traveling 70 mph on the freeway with moderate throttle input and the throttle completely lost function. This resulted in the need for an emergency exit from the freeway while coasting with no control of the throttle, a dangerous situation to say the least. The date entered below is the date of the last occurrence on the freeway.

On 5 different occasions this truck has gone into what the dealership is referring to as limp mode. No matter what speed you are traveling the truck involuntarily down shifts into a speed averaging 20 miles per hour without warning. This happened twice while traveling on the highway doing approximately 65 miles an hour. The other three times the speed went from 30-45 miles per hour down to 25 miles per hour. When this happens the dash board lights up indicating an electronic throttle light problem. Each time this happened the truck was taken back to the dealership that we purchased it from. The first time a PCM update for the voltage code 18-19-04-eh which did not remedy the defect, just a few days later, on March 10, 2016 the vehicle suffered the same defect which created a potentially hazardous situation since the vehicle was being operated on a major roadway. Again, freedom Chrysler looked at the vehicle and replaced the boost sensor (68211211aa sensor-intake manifold) again 1 day after this was returned to us it went back into limp mode. This time (3-21-16) the incidents were reported to Chrysler at 800-423-6343 and we were given a case number and a case representative. The case manager offered at this time to reimburse us 1 months payment due to the lose use of the vehicle. We declined payment until we knew the vehicle was fixed properly and that no other issues would arise. The fourth time the truck went into this mode all of the injectors were replaced. 1 day later there was a very load noise coming from the truck so it was returned yet again. This time freedom Chrysler said we had received a defective injector and they changed one of the new injectors out for another one. We are not willing to risk ours/others lives by driving this truck. We have asked freedom Chrysler and Chrysler motors to replace this vehicle to no avail.

Was on the on ramp passing a semi when I eased off the accelerator but the gas pedal stayed on the floor. I let off the gas pedal at approximately 40 mph, the truck continued to speed up until it hit approximately 80 mph when a service throttle body message lit up on the dash and released the gas pedal. The dealer currently has the truck for day number 4. they can't find the source of the problem even though it threw a code when it happened. The truck is brand new 2015 Ram 1500 with approximately 1250 miles on it at the time of the incident.
