COMPLAINT/INCIDENT.On February 9th 2024, I was making a right hand turn onto main Street. My speed was under 10mph, closer to 5mph.. Without any warning or MIL, my truck suddenly went from easy steering to unable to move the steering column and jerked/locked the wheel by 90 degrees to the left. In other words, the steering wheel went from the 3:00 position and locked into place at the 12:00 position at the apex of the right turn. This put me on a path to driving into a 2story brick building. I was unable to accelerate and I was unable brake momentarily. The engine sputtered a few times; and that is when the MIL lit up on my dashboard stating -??electronic power steering service-?? and -??low battery voltage-??. After the lights came on, the steering was brought back to normal along with the acceleration and my brakes. After the MIL displayed, steering resumed enough to pull into a parking spot. All of this occurred within 80ft from the apex of the corner to where the truck finally locked up. Total distance traveled 195 ft from start of turn to parked. The steering column and wheel completely locked up once in parking spot. I weigh about 230 lb and I could literally hang off the wheel without the wheel moving an inch.. At home, the power to the truck did not turn off like it normally would after 30 secs. The manual neutral transmission switch was pulled, which normally does not interfere with shutdown. After disengaging the truck powered off. However, I was unable to restart and only a clicking noise was heard. A battery booster jumpstarted successfully. No MIL on dash on startup. Surprisingly, the steering came back to normal. PART NUMBERS. The EPS numbers on the outside casing are P68242957AD and TIC2794A8134. Neither of these numbers have been listed in any of the documentation provided by the NHTSA on the power steering recall nor the reopened investigation.

My truck is experiencing the -??hemi tick-??. Upon research, this tick is a common defect in RAM trucks that was supposed to be fixed in later models. Not true. Not only do I need to pay thousands for replacing the manifold, it will be a problem again. The hot/cold engine melds the aluminum and steel, creating a warped or split manifold. To replace it is immense labor, hence costly fees, as the bolts are too small to adequately remove and snap. If drilling out, metal could get into other parts of the engine causing severe damage. I bought this used at $30,000 miles (approx). Per my mechanic, the manifold has already been altered once. They claim it-??s a safety concern, which includes -??loss of power -?? especially at highway speeds. This is in addition to the repair costa and loss of value. The earliest appointment is a month away. Yes, it could be inspected upon request. It has been inspected by Arbos and G&D auto repair. Both whom are unable to remove the bolts and referred me to a dealership. I have an appointment with Hights Chrysler in Madison, Maine on Nov. 30th. The quotes I have received range from $500 to $2,000. The -??warning-?? is the ticking sound during idle.

While driving on the highway between Nenana and Fairbanks, AK, on August 9, 2023, I attempted to pass a slow moving RV towing a trailer. While in the passing lane, I accelerated and my vehicle suddenly loss power. I was forced to swerve out of the passing lane to avoid a collision with with oncoming traffic and the vehicle being passed. After that event, the vehicle would not exceed 3000rpms or 35mph up hills. Immediately after the event, the service engine light came on and the dash showed engine error codes. I took the vehicle to the dealer (Gene's Chrysler in Fairbanks Alaska). After inspection, they indicate that the magnetic surface of the engine tone wheel was delaminating and this initiated the sensor to cause a "limp mode" (mode that limits vehicle's speed). After that event, the vehicle also had trouble starting as though it was not receiving sufficient fuel. The dealer indicated that my vehicle's vin was not covered under the recall even though the problem matched NHTSA campaign number: 23V411. Stellantis-?? own number for this recall is 66A. This recall is an expansion of recall 20V475. I feel that my vehicle needs to be added to this recall. Without my vehicle covered under this recall, my family is incurring the costs of a rental car until the new part arrives. The vehicle was dropped off at the dealer on August 23. The part is delayed and expected on October 15 (nearly a two month wait because of a vehicle defect that effects safety). The dealer indicated my vehicle is unsafe to drive. Why isn't my vehicle part of this recall? It is clearly the exact problem identified in the recall notice.

I was pulling out from my street that connects to a two lane highway. From my street you can see if cars are coming from quite a distance away. There was a semi truck in the distance going east bound in the direction I needed to torn into. There was absolutely enough room for me to merge out into the east bound lane without the semi truck even being affected. I was now about a 1/4 mile down the road and the semi was still aways back. Then, my truck started to sputter and not accelerate and as this a two lane road there at this point was nowhere to pull over. The semi was now coming up quick due to loss of power in my truck. I turned on my hazards by this time he was close and had to make an evasive lane change to avoid running into the back of me. Luckily, there was no on coming traffic. This is not the first incident of my truck losing power and almost being rear-ended. I purchased the truck from a dealer in December of 2022. They have not been of any help, and frankly they are not willing to do a thing to help. I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do. I feel I was sold a truck with a potentially dangerous recall that can cause a major car accident which could result in death. There is no resolve for this recall at this time. This recall not only puts my family at risk, it endangers the general public.

The ABS control module has failed over a year ago and factory replacement parts are unavailable. Mopar dealers advise they are on backorder with no expected delivery date. The failure of this unit disables the Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control and Electronic Speed Control.

...The component that failed is the ABS and traction system, the hitch brake system and the cruise control also stopped working, all this abs and traction system when it stops working can cause the vehicle to not move have correct performance in its braking and skidding system, which can be dangerous, especially in severe rainy and humid climates. I took the car for inspection to the dealer in naplenton in kisiimmee fl and the diagnosis so far is that it has damage to the abs module and the abs pump, which must be replaced and whose price for parts and labor is around 1615 $ with a tendency to increase according to the dealer, so far I only have the diagnosis and quote of the arrangement, since the parts take around 7 days to be available. Yesterday I contacted the FCA inquiring about the warranties of the car on these parts and about an extended warranty that they had offered me in the past tense due to other damages that I had previously in the vehicle with other parts, I did not get a response from FCA about that warranty and The dealer tells me that I do not have any warranties to cover this repair, so I will have to put it out of my pocket. It should be noted that my truck is from 2015 and it is a work vehicle and it only has 54,000 thousand miles, that is, it is a truck that has been given the use and exploitation for which it is designed.... thank you very much

While pulling a loaded trailer I was going around a right-hand bend in the road at about 35mph and the steering locked up throwing us off the road into a ditch. Thank God it did not throw us into oncoming traffic. Couldn't move the steering wheel at all with two men trying together. Required a tow truck to move to dealer. Also having issues getting the cruise to engage.

About a dozen times the accelerator pedal sticks to the floor. The pedal stays depressed even when my foot is not on it anymore. The vehicle races uncontrollably as fast as it can. Occasionally a red warning light with a thunderbolt displays on the dash. I have not taken it to the dealer because it is no longer under warranty but, I have replaced the throttle body and it made no difference. Also I have checked the NHTS website for recalls. My original factory floor mat does not go under pedal so as not to be the culprit. When the pedal sticks to the floor I must place the toe of my shoe on the side of the the accelerator pedal and lift it up. This stops the acceleration and the red warning light goes off. The sticking pedal has occurred about a dozen times and has only happened over the last 18 months. The safety problem is becoming more frequent. On Monday while taking my daughter to school I pulled out onto the highway from a stop sign and quickly accelerated. Upon reaching the 45 mph speed limit I let off the accelerator pedal but the pedal stayed depressed. My Ram truck quickly accelerated to 72 mph all the while I had to weave around a car to avoid an accident. The warning light did not come on this time. I have tried braking but this only slows the vehicle slightly. When releasing the brake the truck accelerates full throttle again. Lifting up on the accelerator pedal is the only thing that works. The sticking pedal has only occurred when accelerating rapidly.

I have had two problems with my vehicle. The first is that the cruise control intermediately works and then doesn't at times. The second, is that the power steering intermediately works and then suddenly will go out in middle of a turn. I took it to a local mechanic and he hooked his scanner to it and although there were no warning lights on, he reset the computer in the vehicle. This action worked for approximately one hour and the then the issue with the power steering returned. I've looked up recalls on both these issues and have noticed there are recalls associated with these problems with Ram 1500, however mine is not listed. I believe they need to broaden their recall actions before someone looses their life due to mechanical failure.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while sitting idle and the brake depressed when the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward. The vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front. The contact stated that they had to turn the vehicle off in order to stop the vehicle from accelerating. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The driver in the vehicle that was crashed into received injuries and medical attention was needed. The vehicle was towed however the vehicle had to put the vehicle in drive in order for the vehicle's wheels to unlock and move onto the flatbed. The contact spoke with the dealer (steve white motors 3470 us hwy 70 SE, newton, nc 28658, (828) 464-3458) who informed them that they were unable to identify the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue however they were unable to assist. The approximate failure mileage was 47,238.

In May 2019, Ram released the V08 recall as part of an aem due to emissions complaints. After having this recall done, my driveability and acceleration has become unsafe. Trying to turn onto a feeder road or merge into traffic is basically dangerous. Often, it seems to have a "dead pedal." I can push the gas pedal and often able to count to 3 before the truck actually begins to move smoothly.

Issue #1 truck is dangerous to operate since emission control update. Will not accelerate from a stop for several seconds then spins wheels. Unsafe on wet roads and slopes due to unexpected throttle response. Unsafe when pulling into traffic or crossing intersection. Unable to tow due to loss of power. Fuel mileage adversely affected. Now gets 13-17 mpg. Tailpipe emissions now smell like diesel and tailpipe has turned black since update. Cannot leave engine running in the garage due to overwhelming odor of diesel. Persistent odor of antifreeze. Issue #2 I have not received the class action settlement from fca. The mandated updates have been performed. I am looking for legal counsel to help me get out of this vehicle before someone I care about is injured or killed due to the loss of performance and erratic throttle control. Issue #3 loss of power when crossing intersection from a rolling start. Engine fault light came on and vehicle would not accelerate leaving me stranded in the road with four lanes of oncoming high speed traffic. Issue #4 tailgate opened with a load of lumber in the bed causing loss of load. The tailgate had to be replaced at my own expense. Thankful that no one was injured due to the loss of load or during the cleanup. Issue #5 fuel pump noise. The fuel pump makes a constant noise that sounds like the bearings are failing or something similar. Waiting to be stranded again. Issue #6 loss of vehicle power. Would not accelerate to road speed. 20 mph max when exhaust filter became clogged up and would not regenerate. Issue #7 4X4 transfer case makes grinding noise and has excessive play. When rolling along in stop and go traffic this is very uncomfortable due to the rocking back and forth upon acceleration / deceleration. Issue #8 air conditioning does not cool as when new. And more -out of space.

My vehicle is a Ram ecodiesel. Fca was caught installing software to fraudulently report emissions data and was ordered by the epa to install new software to bring emissions into compliance. I got this so-called "repair" in August in so doing, my vehicle (and many others) developed an acceleration lag that is quite dangerous -- particularly when the engine is just started. You begin to pull into traffic and then the vehicle just stops for several seconds before acceleration. I have complained to fca. Fca is aware of the problem but has no fix at this time. I have asked for loaner until they have a fix and this has been denied. I have asked for a replacement vehicle but they say this vehicle is operating "as designed." I am currently going through arbitration and will file a lawsuit if unsuccessful. It is clear that fca doesn't really care about customer safety and won't do the right thing unless compelled to do so. I can provide copies of the bulletin saying there is no fix, emails I have sent to fca, repair notes from the dealership saying they acknowledge the problem but there is no fix or anything else needed, though I suspect others have already supplied this so it wold E redundant. If you want it, please advise. Bottom line is that I do not believe this vehicle is safe to drive.

This vehicle was recalled under the ecodiesel settlement and received an approved emissions modification. This update reprogrammed the vehicle computer to improve the emissions systems. This modification has created a drive-ability issue which causes the vehicle to fail to accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. This problem occurs every time the vehicle goes up a steep hill and when the accelerator pedal is pressed the vehicle does not accelerate, even with the accelerator pedal floored. Then the engine kicks in and spins the rear wheels on a gravel road. I live in Washington state and it is snow country. Going up a snow covered steep hill is going to be an issue. I would not have purchased this vehicle if it did not accelerate properly. This issue was caused by the approved emissions modification that has created an unsafe driving condition.

After completing the emissions recall on the eco diesel a significant lag in acceleration has occurred. This lag impacts ability to keep with the flow of traffic when merging etc. This is a safety hazard as it is unpredictable and driver cannot determine acceleration by simply pressing the pedal down - sometimes with a 5-10 second delay in response to accelerate. This can occur from a stop, and merging onto a highway, from a stop light and making a uturn in the authorized areas, when merging onto a freeway ramp.

After resolving recall for emmsuons on my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel, the throttle response is lagging. After I make a turn onto a road the truck fails to accelerate when the gas peddle is being pushed. It has about a 3-4 second leg time. It is especially bad in a 90 degree turn going through a green light onto another road. I've almost been rear ended by trafficking that was originally 150-200 feet away when I originally turned onto the road. The lag is also noticed in passing situations.
