So we have a 2015 Ram 1500, we had installed a leveling kit. After this, that shop called me back, they had seen a truck with the upper ball joints falling out and called me and asked me to come in so he could have a look at my ball joints...and yes they were were falling out!!! I contacted Dodge on the Island and after lengthy conversations and them telling me that the ball joints were in spec, I said no, I want you to look at my truck. I took it over on the 17 of April and again after some arguing on the phone they told me that the truck was "unsafe" to drive. I left my truck there and they ended up replacing both upper control arm assemblies. I went over on Saturday to pick it up and hadn't even asked for the key and went to check out the new control arms and guess what... yes they were as bad as when I first went in. They were falling out!!!!!!!
I bought a new truck so I wouldnt have to deal with this kind of stuff. uggh I checked out 5 of 7 Dodges on the lot and they all had at least 1 ball joint falling out. I brought this to their attention and they couldn't believe it! I do believe there should be a recall done before someone dies!!! I also have contacted Chrysler Canada and have told them of my concerns they have made a file # for me.
I was told "this is what you get for buying new....you get the bugs that go with it" I also should say that I was told it was ok to put in an aftermarket (by Dodge) leveling kit. they were trying to tell me that it was due to this. I'm like 5 out of 7 (I didn't check the other 2 trucks on the lot)of your trucks on the lot don't have leveling kits and the ball joints are falling out (WTF!!!!!!)
I am going to go as far as I can with my experience try to bring it to everyone that has purchased these new trucks so that they are aware of it and can get it fixed....apparently this is only with the 2015s

Truck starting making a loud creaking sound when driving, braking, turning, and bouncing on the side step. Mechanic couldn't figure it out because the sound was coming from all over. Come to find out moog control arm upper ball joints have failed at only 68000 miles. I had a 2007 Ram before this one & they lasted 127000 miles. This is definitely a 2015 Ram flaw & should be recalled immediately!
I'll find out tomorrow if this is all that's wrong with it if the noise stops. Ever since Dodge became owned by Fiat, engineering has gone to s***. I won't ever own another one passed 2013. Ram is over for me now & hopefully they wise up before a once amazing piece of American steel becomes extinct.
Update from Oct 1, 2021: Well my husband was in a bad wreck a month ago because of the suspension failing issue, & the truck was totaled. Luckily he is okay & a miracle he's still here after hitting a metal guard rail at a higher interstate speed. We upgraded to a 2017 night edition & no issues so far.
