Come to a complete stop, put transmission into R, back up into driveway (or wherever) and the whining noise begins, gets louder as speed increases in reverse. Sounds like a faint siren, possibly coming from rear differential?
Don't notice any unusual sounds when in forward gears, only when reversing. The rear axle recall was completed when I first purchased the truck in Oct. 2015, this "siren" issue began a few months ago, wondering if it's happening with other owners.

The whining noise while backing up on my 2015 Ram 1500 has been happening for several years since it turned a little over 30K miles, and it's been getting worse ever since. At some point I suspect the rear end will fail. It's a little heartening that others are having this same issue, but it stinks that Chrysler won't take ownership of it and recall the myriad of trucks that need to be fixed!
