On two occasions, the contact stated that the tailgate had unexpectedly dropped without warning while driving; he also stated that multiple attempts were made to shut the tailgate as the tailgate would fail to latch. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where he paid out of pocket to have the failure repaired. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V347000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. When the contact arrived for the appointment, the dealer stated that the part was not available. The dealer stated that they would follow-up when the part was available. The contact had not received a response. The contact sent an online inquiry to the manufacturer through their website, but had not received a response. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact received the recall notification on September 27, 2017. The contact spoke with Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep city (4395 us-130 burlington, New Jersey 08016, (609-871-2800) numerous times about part availability. The dealer scheduled a repair appointment; however, when the contact arrived, the dealer stated that the manufacturer did not send the part. The dealer stated that the part would be available in October of 2017. In addition, the contact was unable to program the cruise control. The vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 18V332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control) on August 18, 2018, but the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was not contacted. While the gear shifter was placed in reverse, the back up camera would remain on the drive screen. The contact then stated that all four door locks would lock then unlock without warning. On several occasions, the vehicle made a beeping noise. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
