1500 Bighorn 3.0L Diesel

My truck has only 14600 miles. The engine seized! Took it to the John L Sullivan in Yuba City. They are charging me $1200 plus just to tell me that water damaged the engine and it is my fault! Not sure where the water came from, but according to them, it was through the intake box, just because I had a new filter in the box!!! I live in the dirt road and there is dirt all the time, that the filter does get dirty... The $1200 for them to open the oil pan and see what happened! 7.7 hours of labor. I am getting the second opinion and as soon as they call me to pick the truck, it's going to another Machine shop. I spoke to the owner, and he said by opening the engine, he can tell me the exact cause of the seized engine, if it's water he will know or not, and hopefully I can take the Dodge dealer and Chrysler to court after finding out the exact cause of the problem and the repair bill. I will not let this one go. I see online that other people have the same issue about 10k to 20k miles.

1500 Eco Diesel

I Recently bought a Dodge 1500 Eco Diesel from a dealer down here in Miami Fl and first 4 months of the truck was a beast i used it for work and mainly to carry my tools i was very happy with it, just three months ago i had this issue where the truck left me in a Home Depot parking lot and didn’t want to turn on. the engine was giving a Oil Pump issue, the dealer ended up towing the car and taking it to their Mechanics and started working on it. the first week i went and they discussed with me that it was fuel contamination so i asked them what can be done, i discussed with the insurance they agreed on paying for the new pump they ended up replacing the pump and they vehicle started fine and was fine for a few minutes then it turned off again it took the pump again, after that over 2 more pumps where messed up, the dealers mechanic had a conversation with me that the truck had no more fuel contamination and it was still taking the pumps, we ended up talking to Chrysler and they did some test and actually sent another pump that they had from one of their factories and we put it in and this one worked fine vehicle still did not turn on. is now 3 months and i have no vehicle they are saying now that its a problem with the computer i feel that i myself as a customer their lying to my face and really have no clue with the truck. i have done some research and herd those trucks have recalls for things similar to mines. It feels as the dealer always makes up an excuse and their just waiting for my lease to be over their customer support is extremely horrible i recommend anyone that has though about purchasing any trucks similar to those models to strive away from ram 1500s eco diesels.
