The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, he attempted to change from the left lane to the right however, the steering wheel did not respond. The contact applied more force to the right and the steering turned in the opposite direction. The contact stated that a red steering wheel warning light was illuminated. The contact stopped in the middle of the roadway due to the loss of steering functionality. The contact had the vehicle towed to his residence. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.
