The anti lock brakes warning light is illuminated and dealership has no repair parts to fix the defect resulting in an unsafe condition. this also results in an inability to operate the cruise control function of the automobile. The condition has existed for over one year with no ability to obtain the needed repair parts to remedy the situation. obviously RAM/DODGE has no interest in resolving this issue without the intervention of some regulatory authority.

Dash popped up tire tracation not working, took to dealer after I scanned. Brake module is bad and was told could not drive until replaced, due possible loss of control. ABS brake module pn#68295368ac needs replacing. The dealer at the time said the part was back ordered with 5 waiting for over 2-3 months. That was August 5th. I have checked with dealer every week since, on the part and still no parts and they are unsure of when they will recieve them. This is my main source of transproation and I cannot drive due to possible brake failure. I have called other dealers and being told the same thing.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned: Electronic/ABS-Anti-Lock Braking System, and is it available for inspection upon request" YES. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk" When the light comes on, brakes shake and when on a wet/slippery surface, pushing down on brake pedal, feels like there's no brakes and it's hitting metal. There's been a recall for other 2017-2018 RAM models for the defective Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) that can cause failures in the anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and traction control systems and this seems to be the same issue. It's a Dodge RAM 1500 5.7L Hemi and only has 17,200 miles on it, seems odd to have this issue and not be included in the recall. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center" NO Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? NO Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" Yes, warning lights show: 1. ABS with a circle around it, 2. a car with 2 wavy tire tracks behind it and a message stating: "Service Electronic Braking System" and "4 Wheel Drive Disabled" light has been going on and off for a couple years

I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding the unavailability of Mopar part #68295368AC, the ABS Control Module for the 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn. As a result, both the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and cruise control are inoperative. This creates a serious hazard: without a functioning ABS, the risk of skidding and collisions increases significantly. In some cases, owners have reported vehicles rendered undriveable due to locked brakes caused by this failure. On [XXX], I brought my vehicle to Arrigo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Fort Pierce, Florida for scheduled 70,000-mile service. During intake, I showed the service advisor the illuminated ABS warning lights on my dashboard (see attached photos). Using On-Board Diagnostic Scanner (OBD service dongle), the advisor confirmed an active error code for internal ABS module failure. The service team performed the routine oil change and provided me a Multi-Point Inspection report. However, the report reflected all -??green-?? results and contained no notation regarding the ABS failure, despite the confirmed error. After leaving the dealership and reviewing the documentation, I immediately returned. At that time, the advisor reconnected the diagnostic tool, again confirmed ABS Module Internal Failure, and explained the part was unavailable nationwide with no timeline for restock. I specifically requested to purchase the ABS module replacement for a total amount of $811.58 so this part would be noted in my service record. The service advisor added a note on the invoice that the Customer is aware that the part is on back order with no ETA at this time. Reference the following documentation dated 08/14/25: 1. Invoice #[XXX] 2. Invoice #[XXX] Arrigo CDJR Fort Pierce Multi-Point Inspection Checklist - incorrectly reflecting all -??green/OK-?? results despite a failed ABS module. Addendum to complaint #11679643, submitted electronically to NHTSA on 8/10/2025 10:10:09 aaam - addendum reads as follows: On 08/16/2025 went to vineland Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram dealership located at 899 S. delsea drive, vineland NJ 08360. Phone (856) 794-9700 and spoke with martha the manager. Martha had one of her techs scan vehicle for free after presenting her with my complaint form. Test came back confirming ABS brake module defective / failed test. Because my VIN does not show on any recall list I was provided a quote # [xxx] in which part #68295368ac ABS brake module will cost $483 plus a $75 core charge. Labor to replace was written in red ink as $285 to remove and replace the ABS module plus reprogram to vehicle. In receiving the quote I agreed to purchase as I need my vehicle to drive family and for work. Manager goes to parts department and gives the quote to parts counter rep explaining to place order and provide info back to her so that she can expedite. Received bill and paid a total of $612.82 for parts, core charge, taxes, and convienence fee for using my credit card. Note this charge does not include the $285 labor fee to install and program module ( will be billed at time of service.) when I get the paid invoice back I am told the part is backordered due to a recall, and that the part may not be available for at least 45 days. Only way to guarantee being a recipient of the part with manager placing expedite request was to prepay as I was told. Included are copies of obd II report from dealer, quote provided, and receipt of payment. I will need to know how to get reimbursed for this recalled part. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On Friday June 13, 2025 ABS and traction control lights elluminated and would stay on momentarily then turn off. On aug082025 the ABS and traction control lights elluminated and stayed lit. On aug102025 drove to autozone buena NJ and had them scan my vehicle using their fixfinder obdii scan tool and application. Check engine passed, ABS failed, emmission ready, service interval pass. There fixfinder application indicated that for ABS the solution would be to replace the ABS control module. No other parts listed. Attached is copy of report.

The ABS Control Module Malfunction! I have researching about These Units, only to find That This Has Been An Ongoing Problem with ALL Mopar Vehicles For YEARS. Why Has there Not Been a Recall. I have seen The same model that are before and after the 2017 1500 Laramie Crew Cab With the Trailer Package, RAMBOX, along with even more Options. it Does not STOP like It Did Before! I have in the Mutable issues Than NEITER of the Dayton Andrew Dealers could Ever Repair, and at the time the Truck was STILL under Warranty.

My ABS module is bad. I have no traction control, or cruise control. My truck shows service trailer brake system, service electronic braking system, and service antilock brake system. I took it to my mechanic in October 2024 and he said there is no part available from Dodge. I took it to a Dodge dealer April 6, 2025 and they were going to send the ABS module off to be rebuilt, said it would take 3 to 4 days. They then called and said it would take one month to rebuild. I went and got my truck back, since I can-??t be without it for a month. There are many owners on a forum for Ram 1500 with the same issue. Some are trading theirs in for a different vehicle because of this issue.

Check ABS System, Check Electric Brake System, Check Trailer Tow, icy/skid light, and emergency BRAKE dash lights are all on. Trailer brakes module will not engage electric trailer brakes when towing heavy equipment, cruise control will not function, and anti-skid brakes (Plusing brakes, instead of brakes lock-up) do not function. The latter lock-up of brakes is a huge safety issue. Dealer says Hydraulic Control unit and electric brake unit need to be replaced. The electric brake unit is not available. The Ram series 2500 and heavier have a recall on these failing parts. The Ram 1500 was not included in the recall, but has the same components that regulate the braking system. The recall needs to include all failing components regardless of the vehicle in which they are installed.

the failed component is the ABS control module. this is very common with these trucks. parts have been on back order for years. The result of this failed component is no ABS and no traction control which is a huge safety issue. the Engine fault code is C2200.

While driving down highway, the ABS light and traction lights came on and cruise control was disabled and brakes was catching as if applying the brakes. After stopping, tried to place the truck in 4WD to no avail. Reset the light by disconnecting the battery, but the warning light for traction came back on and then went off several times when there was no obvious reason.

The ABS, traction control, and brake light came on in the dash. Had the vehicle checked and the code came up C2200-49, which indicates the ABS module. Found out that the 2019 models and newer have a recall on the same part. Went to and spoke to 2 different dealerships to try and get fixed or even to buy the part, but was told that this module has been an issue and back ordered for over 3 years. One of the dealerships told me that they aren't even entertaining the option of making an appointment. This is very frustrating and confusing, since my stopping ability could be compromised, especially since I tow a boat quite frequently.

The brakes on my 2017 4WD Lonestar Ram 1500 have been malfunctioning intermittently over the past few months. When depressing the brake petal, three things happen at once; the brake petal pulsates up and down, the ABS and "Service Electronic Braking System" lights illuminate on the dash, and I can hear a loud, gurgling sound. While researching the issue online, I noticed that a recall for the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) responsible for failure of the braking system has been initiated for the 2017 Ram 2500 and 3500 models, but I believe that an inspection will reveal that the HCU in my 1500 is also faulty. This issue greatly impacts the vehicles ability to slow down or come to a sudden stop, as the brakes often lock when they are applied, and has almost resulted in several collisions.
