Always dealer kept up from day one and on time and yet just over 43 miles out of warranty!!! Who in the He** makes an engine that only lasts 80k ?!? This happened while cruising 65 on the interstate. If I would have been passing someone one especially on a 2 lane road it would have been bad!!! This is just as bad as the fuel pump recalls!! FCA is no help as they wash their hands of the whole ordeal!! They know about the problems as they stocked up the dealerships with new upgraded engines.

I see tons of complaints about these engines and yet nothing has been done about it!! Its a major safety issue!! Come on now imagine trying to cross a busy intersection and having it fail or worse yet passing an big truck with on coming traffic!! Either one your right in the middle and poof your low mileage vehicles engine takes a dump!!! Bottom line FCA puts the dollar ahead of any all human life!!!

I've only got 20,000 miles on this vehicle and was traveling home from Lake Tahoe when the engine blew. Fortunately, we made it back down to Sacramento and were able to pull safely off the highway. The dealership just called to say they'd drained the oil and dropped the pan and 'found large chunks of metal'. Not sure if I should view this as the glass being half full (replacement motor being covered under warranty) or half empty (defect in the motor's design/fabrication). Regardless, I'm now a very concerned Ram owner!

Driving on long road trip on the highway on June 18, 2020. In the mountains at dusk when the engine blew. Pulled over before the rod blew, and attempted to call dealership/insurance/tow truck. No cell service, we were in the mountains. Beginning to get dark and had a driver pull off to ask if could assist. They contacted the tow truck driver who came in the dark. Covid was rampant so I ended up in my cab on top of the tow truck going through mountains to return to the city.

Dropped off at dealership and returned first thing in the morning, June 19, 2020. Service Manager refused to offer replacement vehicle for the duration of repair, however, I persuaded him to get me something. I ended up in their service truck, next morning I had a flat with a screw in it. Repaired it with my tire shop (quicker than returning to dealership). On AUGUST 29, 2020 I received a call my truck was ready for pick-up. This repair took OVER 2 MONTHS to repair! When I picked up the truck, I was advised by service dude to not rely on long trips with this particular engine. WOW!!!!! Total nw engine and turbo was installed.

I was on my way to my step daughter's wedding. I was pulling a 22 foot trailer and had my daughter and a friend as passengers. I covered a total of about 250 km when the engine blew. I was given no courtesy vehicle and had to have a friend tow my trailer home. I then had to find a friend to drive me back to get the truck, The cost to me was the cost of fuel and $800 for the ferry. Now that I know I can't rely on the truck, I would be very hesitant to take the trailer to the mainland. I MISSED MY STEPDAUGHTER'S WEDDING.

My 5.7 hemi FAILED AT ONLY 26000 KM. Car was extremely well maintained as I am a certified mechanic and have been for over 23 years. Ram told me it is my fault for towing too much when my truck doesn't have a tow hitch, wtf!! I had to pay 7 grand for a used engine, not including labor and a bunch of other parts. I am currently going to repair the truck and sell it and I will never purchase another Chrysler product again. The Chinese make more reliable sh*t then Chrysler. Just gonna stick a Ford or Toyota Tundra. Apparently it was caused by a connecting rod fail.
