The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the contact attempted to avoid crashing into a bicyclist and depressed the brake pedal however, the brakes failed to engage. As a result, the front passenger side of the vehicle crashed into a tree; before the crash, there was an abnormal sound whenever the brake pedal was depressed. In addition, the "Service Anti-Lock Brake System" message was intermittently displayed on the instrument panel. There was severe cosmetic damage. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained shoulder and back pain injuries due to the impact and received medical treatment for the injuries. No one who was not in the vehicle was injured. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V653000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control). The check engine light has been on several times. I've dropped my truck off at crown Dodge of fayetteville and was told on two separate occasions that's everything was taken care of. Today 1 November 2020, I've purchased a brand new $200 duralast platinum battery and it's still being drained by some unknown issue. I received some help outside of the dealership and received the error code P1dr3. I told told that was a dealership code and I would have to return the vehicle to get it resolved. This will be the third time in a months time I would have to be without my vehicle. The first time this is happened I was driving 40-45 mph and the truck completely shut off!

Started with telling me my tire was flat. I pulled over on the side of the highway which is dangerous and the tire was full of air. Then told me elcectroic brakes needed to be serviced. Not too long after that it kept telling me the four wheel drive is not working. I have never put the truck in four wheel drive. Also the ABS service light was flashing. Took it back to dealership 4 days after I bought it and they took it into their shop and 'fixed' it in a few minutes. Very next day everything started again. Took it back to dealership and they have kept it over the weekend. When I called them at lunch on Friday telling them I was bringing it back they asked me to wait til next week to bring it. This is their second chance to get it right. It has been a nightmare. I bought a truck because I have a small farm and I need it to feed and water my animals. They have had to go without water one day because I haven't had my truck 3 out of the first eight days after buying it. Also they didn't want to give me a receipt from when I brought it the first time until I had told them I had already called the ag office.

The vehicle initially had a reported steering failure twice on December 19th. This was reported to NHTSA under file 1162423. The vehicle was taken to the dealer the same day. The dealer was unable to determine why this occurred. Then, again on December 30th this occurred again at highway speed, almost causing a collision. Immediately contacted the dealer again and the dealer was concerned over safety issue and offered a rental vehicle while inspecting the vehicle. On the way to the dealer this morning, the power steering turn off and again the message center displayed in red " power steering unavailable service required".. this was displayed on the prior occasions.... while driving slowly to the dealer this loss of steering occurred another 3 times intermittently with another warning "service air suspension immeditaley".... keep in mind that when the power steering leaves with electronic steering very little control remains. Since this has been reported to the dealers and also to NHTSA numerous times from various geographic areas since August 2018 I am surprised that a recall has not been issued and or a remedy through the dealers.
