Bought truck from dealership one year ago with 73k miles. Truck is currently at 133,704 miles. On the way to work that morning. Service engine light came on and noticeable power loss. Error was P0308, Cylinder 8 misfire. Spark plugs & boots were changed at 91k miles. So, I changed both sparkplugs in cylinder 8 and this did not fix the error. Changed boots around but error stayed in that cylinder 8. Took it to Dealership for repair. I was told at first that the bolts had sheared off in the manifold. After 2 weeks of waiting on parts, I received a call from dealership saying that I had an internal engine failure and I would need a new engine. The cams & lifters failed. I am 33k outside of manufacturing warranty and 4k miles over extended warranty I purchased. No I am being told that I will have to cover cost of a new engine.
Shame on me for not doing my research before purchasing. Doing research now after the fact, seems that this is a common problem with 2019 RAM and engine failure. Why is Ram not trying to help or remedy the situation with recalls. I'm stuck left owing 38k on a truck I just purchased a yr ago and trying to cover a 13k repair that is a known engine issue!
