Vehicle has adjustable height gas pedal and factory floor mats properly installed. After near-miss accident I found the gas pedal stuck down on a vertical rib of the floor mat. Pictures attached. When pedal height is adjusted full up or full down it can not reach floor mat. When adjusted mid range though, the pedal can reach the floor mat and stick to the top of the far right hand rib. I was pulling away from a 4-way stop going straight when the 395hp vehicle maintained violent acceleration. Pressing the brake I believe stopped the violent acceleration or decreased it significantly. I needed to touch the pedal again to get to a safe place and again just touching it caused violent acceleration. Regained control of the vehicle and pulled over and found the pedal stuck to the top of the rib. Was a few blocks from where I purchased the vehicle a few days before. Their resolution was to confiscate my floor mat and for me to go to a parts store to buy a new one for my $45,000 vehicle. See also ODI 11288197. Consumer stated have a lot of controls background and immediately assumed the braking cut back on the power and was very sure when it took off again. Consumer acrossed the intersection and had enough speed to make it to a safe place to pull over. Pulling up the pedal was not a viable option. Consumer forgot to determine if the engine button shuts off the engine immediately at speed.

Several times the vehicle brakes hard (as in locks up the brakes) when backing up and auto braking is enabled, but nothing is there. Same thing when driving forward, forward collision warning auto brakes when nothing at all is there, almost resulting in being rear ended at least twice before I turned it off.. at least I am able to turn it off. I kept the warning on, and it goes off all the time when I cross speed bumps or shadows from overpasses. This is extremely dangerous and continues after tsbs that are supposed to address. Another known issue that Ram isnt addressing publicly is brake squealing - there is an internal memo about it, but dealerships are not addressing it - it happens when you break lightly to slow down between 70-40 mph, but they can never seem to reproduce it at the dealer. I opened a case with Ram and they have done anything other than what the dealer did...I am most worried about the safety features causing an accident, please help! latest date the front collision warning activated when nothing was there was today. It happens all the time.

We purchased the vehicle on June 12th, 2019. After many electrical issues we took it to autonation for repairs. On August 27th we picked up the vehicle and they said the keyfabs on our brand new truck were aftermarket and caused over 120 codes. Drove the vehicle on I45 (freeway) southbound from houston tx and the vehicle turned off while in motion. This could have been a very bad accident. Driving at 60mph and engine dying. Had to have vehicle towed to tomball Dodge where we purchased vehicle. The vehicle again had over 120 codes on it. Vehicle is still there weeks later.

The contact was driving a 2019 Ram 1500 loaner vehicle. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the pedal did not return to its position and the vehicle continued to accelerate to 90 mph. The contact had to shift the vehicle into neutral and reached down to pull the pedal back up. The contact investigated and found that the pedal became caught in the grooves of the floormat. When the contact attempted to brake, the rear wheels began spinning and smoking. Also, the engine continued to rev when the vehicle was shifted into neutral. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 300. Contact stated I bought my 2019 Ram 1500 at the end of may about 3 months ago. In over 40 years driving my recent experience was one of the most frightening. I got on interstate 10 here in houston, I was in the right lane and the motor vehicles behind me were two big rigs moving at a good speed. I needed to get to the left lane for easy pass. To get out of the truckers way I "put my pedal to the metal" as the phrase goes. I felt I believe it was three crunches under my right foot. Right at this time my gas pedal went back and hit the fire-wall carpet.was driving in my 3 month old Ram 1500 with 1840 miles on it. Accelerated to get on the highway, pressed the pedal and it clicked like gears were breaking. I could feel it under my shoe. The pedal got stuck and I was really accelerating, I hit the brake hard and it slowed the car. I got my shoe behind the pedal up high and pulled it toward me. The dash lit up "a!" service electronic throttle controller! I moved the pedals toward me like a short person would drive. The entire pedal wobbles like its broken inside the unit. I put a call into someone at the dealership. On the following day, Wednesday, August 21st. I brought my truck in to the dealer. They jacked into the obd connector and a minute later it shout out 6-7 issues. They gave me a loaner car and said this would take a few days to sort. I got a call about two hours later telling me that a new throttle controller had to be ordered and that would take about a week to get. They also said they compared my pedal with a new truck and that there was an problem. I'm hoping for a call back. This is serious! I a very decent driver, I can't imagine a woman or older man in my situation.

I have a new 2019 Ram 1500. On numerous occasions (approximately 6), the truck unexpectedly lurches and begins accelerating by itself, never stopping. This acceleration takes place in both drive and reverse. The vehicle can only be controlled with heavy breaking or flipping the truck into neutral. If the truck is turned off and restarted, the acceleration stops. However, it reoccurs shortly thereafter, sometimes in only a few blocks. During this uncontrollable acceleration, the gas pedal does not work at all. This currently has only occurred during slow speeds while driving in town. The dealer has attempted to fix the truck numerous times, unsuccessfully. I currently do not drive the truck on the highway out of fear on how the truck will react when this problem occurs at high speeds. This issue is a safety risk to those in the truck and other drivers on the road.

I was driving forward at approximately 20 mph. I attempted to slow down by letting off the accelerator pedal, but the truck kept going. I was able to stop, by using the brake, but if I let off the brake, the truck would accelerate. I drove to dealership without using the accelerator pedal. The truck was literally stuck at 1500 RPM's. a 'throttle failure' message appeared on the dash, along with basically every warning light and symbol.

I started my truck and before I could put it in gear, a 'throttle failure' warning message appeared on my dash along with several warning lights/symbols. I had no throttle response and the engine was stuck at approximately 1,000 RPM's. I 'limped' home at a near idle. I could press the gas pedal a little or a lot, and got nothing from the truck.

I was driving down the highway feeder road, and the vehicle in front of me made an emergency stop. I slammed on my brakes, and swerved into the lane to the right of me. A car was coming up in that lane at high speed so I hit the accelerator to get out of the way, and the truck accelerated at full power. I lifted my foot off the accelerator, but the pedal stayed on the floor and the truck kept accelerating. I then switched to the brake pedal, and had to use maximum braking force to keep the truck from further accelerating into the vehicle in front of me. The vehicle then displayed the electronic throttle control warning light on the dash. While hard on the brakes, I was able to work my way off the feeder road and into a parking lot. During this whole time the accelerator was on the floor and the truck was trying to out power the brakes. As I entered the parking lot I put the vehicle in neutral using the transmission selector knob, and the accelerator returned to it's normal operating position and the warning light went away. I then powered off the vehicle entirely. A minute or so later I got an email from fca uconnect that the vehicle needed service and the error that the truck gave. The vehicle was towed to a dealership.

The breaking part of the collision avoidance system flashes a warning to break in and alarm goes off typically when I am crossing a bridge. While trying to merge on the interstate, the braking system applied the brakes unexpectedly and brought the vehicle to a complete stop on the interstate. There were no obstacles are cars anywhere around the front of the vehicle and there was nothing to avoid when the vehicle unexpectedly applied the brakes. A cyma almost rear ended me because there was nothing I could do. The problem has been reported to the dealer and the vehicle has spent 4 days in the shop with no solution are no apparent cause.

The truck has been self accelerating and causing me to slam on breaks to avoid accidents. It was first happening on the highway and it went 50-70mph by itself. Then it happened today on the city street and almost caused an accident. It was claimed to be a sensor problem, but it happened again today and I barely made it to the Dodge dealership. The car has multiple warning lights come on and then will self accelerate and only allow you to brake. Sometimes it floors it from a stop and other times it barely moves but self acceleration should not be happening and its a major concern. VIN is not available consumer stated vehicle considered for lemon law and dealer and consumer working on getting a new vehicle.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. While the vehicle was parked in a garage, the contact exited the vehicle and it independently accelerated backwards. The contact entered the vehicle in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The contact noted that the vehicle did not drift backwards, but independently accelerated rapidly backwards out of the garage of the contact's residence. The contact was nearly smashed in between the front driver's door and a stone pillar. There were no injuries. The contact stated that the driver's door and the front fender were damaged due to becoming caught on the garage pillar, which bent backward and struck the front fender of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle would not shift into the drive position after three attempts. The contact referenced the "safe-hold" system, which was a feature of the electronic park system that failed to automatically engage the vehicle to the park position after exiting the vehicle. Carright Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram fuso (5408 university blvd, moon, Pennsylvania 15108, (412) 264-4270) was made aware of the failure and took the vehicle in for service. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with case number: [xxx]. the contact referenced NHTSA action number: PE16014 (power train) as a potential cause of the failure and specifically indicated that the parking brake was not engaged. The failure mileage was approximately 97. I purchased the truck on 10/4/2019. On 10/6/2019 was delivered to my house. After going over the features the sales representative left. I tried backing the truck out of the drive way the truck would not back up because of the brake sensor system. The buttons to control the functions on the steering wheel did not work as well. I took the car to the dealership that same day. It's been siting there unrepaiired. The deal ship says they are unsure of the problem and have opened a ' star case' with Dodge manufacture. I have called everyday asking for updates they say they don't have any news or updates.

/purchased new 2019 Ram 1500 limited. Took delivery 08/30/2018 and dint get off the lot due to vehicle accelerating on its own and then multiple safety lights came on. Service then attempted to repair by replacing throttle pedal assembly due to throttle voltage code. Picked up truck 09/06/2018 and while driving 09/07/2018 just over 24 hrs later truck then started accelerating on its own in rush hour traffic nearly causing severe accident. Multiple dash lights on with warnings and check engine light. Pulled to side of road placed in park then back in drive still wanted to accelerate on own. Turned vehicle off then restarted check light still on but no longer wanting to accelerate on own. Returned vehicle to dealer unable to do anything about issue. Less than 200 miles on new truck..... fca's arbitrator has denied consumers lemon law claim.
