Difficulties fueling vehicle. Gas pump consistently shuts off after a few (2-3) seconds of pumping gas. Bought vehicle used, have filled up 3 times in 1 month and have had issues with 2 of the full ups.

The RAM 1500 Bighorn cannot take more than mere ounces of unleaded gasoline before the nozzle auto shuts off. It does not matter how fast gas comes out of the nozzle; it can take up to an hour to fill from empty to full going at.1 gallon every 5 seconds. When brought into the RAM dealership, the techs stated this is a well known and documented issue that a lot of RAM owners are seeing, but there has not been a recall on it. There are no warnings for this at all and it poses a threat to any owner that fills their tank with a nozzle that does not have an auto shutoff or with a gas can as fuel backfills and spills out of the truck posing a fire hazard.

Timing chain cover leaking oil for 2nd time with only 32,000 miles on the vehicle. Ram dealer repaired once already in 2022. Loosing antifreeze but dealer says the vehicle is not. Service def system comes on at random and says see dealer. While this is happening it does a count down on the temperature gauge in the dash and check engine light comes on. Dealer say they can-??t find anything wrong.

Just left my house. Came up to the second stop light, about 4 blocks away from my house, slowed down to stop for the red light when the truck just shuts off. The lights came on in the information center and stated to put the truck in park and restart the truck. There was a red lightning bolt displayed in the info center as well. This is about the 5th time the truck has done this, just stalling and shutting off for no reason. Seems to only do this within 5 minutes of starting the truck after it has been parked for hours.

1) The Fuel Pump broke on our 2019 Ram Big Horn. It only has around 40,000 miles on it. We had it towed to the dealership. They are going to replace the fuel pump mid to end of February due to part shortage. My wife was on the entry roadway to I95 when without warning the truck puttered and died on the entrance ramp. There was no warning lights, messages etc. Luckily she puttered to the side out of the way of speeding cars getting on I95. According to the dealership they have no idea how the fuel pump died. The dealership is the only party that inspected the vehicle. 2) The second problem we are having with the Ram, is the dashboard lights flicker on off for no particular reason. It just happens when it feels like it. We brought it to the dealership and of course it didn-??t happen to them so they have no idea why the dashboard lights are going on and off. The rear defroster isn-??t working. The battery died as well. We feel there is some type of electrical problem with the truck. We do not believe a vehicle with only 40,000 miles would have the fuel pump die. I know other Ram trims (2500, 3500 etc)have had recalls due to fuel pumps dying and dashboard lights going on and off for no reason. I think this is a problem that needs attention! Fuel tank has a cap less tank system that sprays gasoline all over the person pumping it. Most fuel pumps will not let fuel into the tanks causing the person who is fueling the vehicle to be splashed with fuel. The dealership wants $200 just to look at it but a local mechanic says the system is faulty. The emissions are fine and the tank will fill at certain gas stations. There are no warning messages or indications of any kind. You start fueling and bam! You-??re covered in gasoline

On 06-06-2021 my wife, daughter and Me and our three dogs, was heading to are first destination on are 2 week vacation pulling are camper. In about 150 miles into the trip started smelling diesel, pulled over on a narrow 2 lane road couldn-??t see anything. So my wife found a road we could pull off on to check everything out a mile away, right before we made it to the road a (service electronic throttle) message came on, so made it to the road to pull off stoped and instantly smoke started bellowing out from the back of the hood. I hopped out and started feeling something burning my legs looked down and saw liquid aluminum dripping and yelled from everyone to get out, by to time we got everyone out the whole front of the truck way fully on the so I got what I could get out and my wife was on the phone with 911. Knowing that the fire department is 20 minutes out I needed to save the camper. Fire is past the fire wall now, pull the panel for the emergency release to put the transmission in neutral one of the airbags blew up in my face and couldn-??t get it out of park. So somehow I shook the truck and camper enough to get the pin out of the hitch and somehow someone drove by and asked them could they help me pull the camper away, and we hooked a chain and pulled it away. 24 minutes later the fire department arrived and everything I saved from the truck was in the grass and burned up to hot to get close to get. So 24 minutes of hell was just starting legs, hand burned and contacts burned can-??t see well and back thumping. Calling everyone like Ram, insurance company no one will help. So the volunteer fire department pulled are camper to their fire station and stayed the night there until are family could pull us back home. Then the nightmare of dealing with the scummy progressive fight for almost 3 months that would not pay market value the time of the incident and somehow took over my claim I had. I cannot properly refuel my tank. It takes me 25 minutes to fill 5 gallons of gas. The pump keeps shutting off like it thinks my car is full. All gas station pump are doing the same thing. Also my Navi goes off course. Sirius XM says my location is one place according to their system but I am 200 miles away. They say it shows it is working on their end but there is clearly an electrical or navigation glitch with my car.

The exhaust system builds up soot and causes the vehicle to malfunction or require excessive EGR cleaning. My vehicle has been in 4 times for the same issue. The dealership admitted they have had many of the same vehicles in for the same issue. It will freeze up when driving and prevent going forward. I have called Ram and they refuse to consider anything because my issue is a maintenance issue the dealership already told me should not be necessary until 60,000-90,000 miles and I should know it will need to be done every 10,000 miles if I do not drive more than I do. I was never informed of the issue when purchasing the vehicle brand new.

Vehicle was in motion, gently turning right and decelerating, moving approx. 60 mph exiting interstate when engine shutoff. Dash display read message to shift car into park. Drive shift knob flashed 'd'. accessory power remained on. Vehicle was coasted to a stop, shifted to park, powered off, and restarted. Driver accelerated vehicle to merge back into traffic, triggering another engine shutoff with the same condition. After second restart, when vehicle was in park the engine was revved to verify a power limit redline was not being surpassed causing engine shutoff. Ac/radio was powered down and vehicle reached destination 5 minutes away without further incident. Cause of engine failure unknown, all fluid levels/temperatures nominal, no smoke or visual indications of failure on the vehicle.

I was driving on I-65 in indianapolis, in traffic, when my engine abruptly shut off and the ignition mode switched from run to acc. This caused me to lose all propulsion power and I was forced to cross lanes to get over to the right shoulder. Luckily, I was still a mile or two from the upcoming construction zone, which would have prevented me from being able to pull off onto a shoulder. Because the engine had shut off while the truck was moving, the computer system is programmed to shift the transmission into park, but because I was going 70mph on the highway (>5mph according to my user manual), it just alerted me that my engine was off and that I was in acc mode. After parking the truck on the shoulder with hazards on, I turned the engine off and waited a few seconds before trying to start it again. When I pressed the brake and the ignition button, the truck started up immediately, like normal, but then 2 seconds later it cut out again with the same run-to-acc mode switch. This happened 6-7 more times before the truck somehow stayed on run. I checked the engine and my fluids for anything odd, but mechanically, the truck was fine. No check engine or warning lights ever came on. The computer system didn't recognize that anything was wrong other than the initial indication. I was able to get home without issues after that, but when I went to turn the engine off, I couldn't. the ignition button had stopped responding. I tried all of the user manual's methods to turn it off, but nothing worked. This vehicle doesn't have a manual key ignition override, just the fob and keyless button, neither of which could turn the engine off. The fob's remote start/shutoff didn't work either. In the end, I had to disconnect the battery to force the engine and computer system to turn off. I'm taking it into the local dealer, via tow if it won't start again, to figure out what happened.

Touchscreen controls for radio, climate, and all other controls do not work properly. Any and all elements of touchscreen will power on and off from ac to heat to radio stations to random phone dialing. Also the vehicle will shut down while driving as if the gear shifter has been placed in neutral. Truck will not accelerate and remote start doesn't work either. Left rear passenger window seal near bed of truck also leaks water when it rains.

My 2019 Ram fuel filler neck causes any gas pump nozzle I use to become stuck and makes refueling take much longer than it should. The gas pump nozzle continuously turns off not allowing me to fill my gas tank. The filler neck"S design seems to trigger the gas pumps? automatic shutoff when the tank isn?T full yet. Sometimes the pump shuts off every few seconds, forcing me to fill my trucks" tank ounces at a time.
