original part # 68545657aa was malfunctioning and i took vehicle into shop to replace. I had to order replacement part 68545657AB at my own expense and pay to have it installed. I received safety recall notice "A2B/NHTSA 24E-082" via mail and went to the recall reimbursement website. this part is not currently listed on the options to select. I called in and was told the vin #'s had not been finalized yet so it does not currently appear. I am submitting this form so that my vin will be included for reimbursement. thank you

The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 experienced a similar malfunction as is stated in Recall B2A, which is for 2023 Ram Pickup Trucks. This instance also deals with the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) and the SCCM does not meet the "requirement for original equipment" as per Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #108. When it malfunctions, the left turn signal flashes when the turn signal is in the left turn position and the neutral position. No signals turn on when in the right turn position. The SCCM was diagnosed with an "Internal Failure" by Mopar technicians at the local dealership including the vehicle flashing test code B2225. The new SCCM took about a month to come in and in that time, sometimes the turn signals functioned normally, which resulted in false confidence as it would again malfunction while driving. This issue is particularly dangerous because sometimes it works as it should and sometimes not. You can account for a completely broken SCCM with arm signals, but when it malfunctions at intermittent times, it results in an unsafe driving environment that you cannot plan for. In getting my vehicle repaired with a new SCCM, I requested for them to save the original SCCM that came with my vehicle at the time of purchase for an organization to further diagnose the problem if desired.

My truck was parked in my driveway for several weeks while away from home, I arrived the water pulling into my floor board and the front driver side and running down the top of my headliner into the back seat, also my belongings and leather seats along with the majority of the interior was covered in mold and mildew leaving a foul odor and it stains. I cleaned it up still has a leak, going back on that my rear driver side tail light started filling up with water causing the tail light and module to go bad, whereas a message would pop up on my dash for blind spot not available service required and immediately afterwards my infotainment Center touch screen would go black the rest of my lights on the controls would flash and the vehicle would default to heat I could not roll my front windows down or control the climate in the vehicle until I replaced the tail light with another module, I'm not sure or it is unknown whether or not the water getting into the cab on my truck or the tail light filling with with water was the culprit, I've had numerous electrical issues with his vehicle and as well problems with the power steering before where it went out on me all together while driving 75 mph on the highway, my brakes did not retract when service at a shop and I had to buy two rear brake calipers and rotors to fix the problem because the Pistons from the automatic park brake which is also controlled by the infotainment Center as far as I understand did not retract and caused my rotors to be eaten away prematurely. If anyone's reading this I have plenty of complaints about this vehicle for the price I paid, if one thing after another from the four-wheel drive system to the traction control to the air suspension all the way to the electronics I fix one thing and something else pops up, I've seen numerous Threads Online where hundreds of people have had the same or similar issues and honestly every single one can affect the safety of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that water was leaking through the sliding backlite and leaked through the cargo light which caused it to leak into the radio frequency module. The dashboard instrument cluster of my 2019 RAM 1500 Gen 5, Longhorn model, is completely inoperable (went blank). This poses a safety issue to the driver as it provides important safety readings like velocity, fuel levels, RPMs, engine temperature, and distance traveled, etc. Roadways have a designated maximum speed. Meeting the speed limit is difficult if you can't read your speedometer. You can receive a citation for driving too fast, or worst, you risk getting into an accident. Not being able to read your engine temperature is vital to the life of your engine, it may pose a dangerous situation, as your engine can overheat. When I contacted the dealer, they advised that it is a common issue and that the Manufacturer is aware. The dealer advised that they couldn't duplicate the problem, when I took my truck to the dealer, as my cluster was working at the time. The instrument cluster turns on and off intermittently. The map light of the truck also stopped working. I disconnected the overhead light assembly, disconnected and connected the modules and they seem to work for now.

The connector for the Trailer is located in a location that in the wrong place, the cable from all RVs and trailers is located at the left side of the hitch, so in order to attach the cable you need to stretch the cable and got loose when you turn, you need to get out and reconnect. Since the cable got disconnected the emergency brake of the camper got activated and after that things go to the wrong way, some tires explode for overheating, in other cases the trailer just got loose.

There is a known problem with ram headlights developing condensation within the headlight assembly. This is a problem as too much condensation can cause shorts and/or permanent damage to electronics. With standard halogen bulbs, the worst case is to replace the bulb and try to remove moisture and prevent future condensation build up. The problem with led lights, and especially pourly designed headlights with led modules on the underside so any moisture falls into the module and ruins it. This is a major saftey concern as your headlights can go out at anytime without warning and potentially cause both to go out at similarly times as condensation build up is a factor of the weather. Furthermore, with the led headlight module being on bottom of the headlight where the moisture build up is strongest, it shorts out the module so you loose all lights within the headlight. This is extremely dangerous for all vehicles and pedestrians in the area as all lights can go out without warning, likely resulting in a wreck. This issue has been brought to ram before, you can easily find many forums of ram owners having this issue. A few people have had their headlights replaced by ram, but the majority of people have not. Also, the people who have had their headlights replaced, received the same headlights as factory lights, so they may have the same issues in the future.

The instrument panel one day a few months prior began to go dark and cease to function intermittently. Specifically the digital sections. It has since progressed to never working. This has created a risk as I can no longer receive system information or warnings as a result. Specifically I was unaware that an object in the road severely punctured one of my tires and I had lost all pressure until a concerned driver informed me. There have been no warning lamps leading up to this problem prior to its occurrence and it can 100% be replicated as it hasn-??t worked since the last time it went dark. It has not been inspected yet as I have been trying to determine the cause for repair. Everything can be made available for inspection upon request.

The direction signals will only work when taking a right turn. The signal stalk will not return to the neutral position and the signal will not shut off after making a right turn. In order to shut off the right signal, I must pull the signal stalk to the left turn position. However, the left turn signal will not operate. Further when making a right turn the signal will begin operating even though I have not engaged the turn signal. The truck is only 38 months old, with only 18,600 miles on it. The turn signal is a lifetime part and should last decades and hundreds of thousands of miles. It is dangerous to operate the vehicle in traffic especially at night as I cannot signal a left turn. I took it to the dealer, but the service agent wanted me to pay $145 just to diagnose the problem and then parts and labor. The vehicle is just beyond the 36-month warranty, but at only 18,600 miles, the dealer should repair this as it is a safety issue.

In October 2019, the uconnect system in my 2019 Ram 1500 began to malfunction. It started with gps coordinates being misaligned to my current location, but quickly progressed to malfunctioning in all aspects of the system. On December 30, 2019, the entire system failed, rendering a black screen and no ability to control the critical functions in the vehicle (maintenance, lighting, climate, or safety cameras). Without the uconnect system, it is impossible to modify any of the setting for the vehicle.

The manufacturer stated that the issue would be addressed during the fourth quarter of 2019 which was still pending. The vehicle was taken to (cobleskill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 5709 2444, NY-7, cobleskill, NY 12043 (518) 234-4000) but was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 7,500.
