about half a year ago, i noticed the seat belt didn't retract properly, and on occasion, it would lock me into the seat preventing me from moving even though there was no reason for the belt to lock. then a airbag light illuminated on the dash a few weeks ago, on the same day that i was standing still at a traffic light, and i tried to reach for a folder on the passenger seat, when the seatbelt would not allow me to move. So i made an appointment with the ram dealer. they just inspected and tested the truck. The dealer just told me it had something to do with the front outerleft seatbelt assembly. They say the ohms is low and the airbag will not deploy and the seatbelt may not work unless the entire assembly is replaced. I was told this is not covered under warranty, not even the extended warranty i purchased. the car is less than 3 years since delivery, and has 52900 miles on it. I can't believe such a safety issue would not be covered. I believe any car manufacturer should sell a vehicle that has a reliable safety restraint and airbag system, don't you? on January 1/23/2022 my vehicle was traveling at a speed of approx. 35mph in wintery conditions. A vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and slide into the road way, and my vehicles front end collided with the side of their vehicle. All of the other vehicles air bags, front and sides, deployed. None of my airbags deployed at all. The vehicle had significant damage and was a total loss. The highway patrol, tow truck driver, the EMS, the Insurance adjuster, and the body shop all said "I can't believe your airbags didn't deploy". My VIN number does indicate a recall related to airbags, but indicates it was fixed. I feel there was definitely an issue that prevented them from deploying. The people commenting are experts as they respond to accidents of this nature as a career, so I feel their opinion warrants an investigation in this matter.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, he had missed a left turn and drove 300 ft off of a cliff and nose dived into an embankment. An ambulance was called and the contact was rushed to emergency room where he had an emergency surgery for a broken back. Police did arrive on the scene; however, the contact was unaware if a report was filed. The vehicle was returned to the contact once he left the hospital. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 27,500.

"the conclusion of the investigation is that the rate of deceleration necessary to activate the air bag system was not present during this accident. If you don't see the accident about to happen, why would you take your foot off the accelerator and slow down??. this conclusion makes no sense and looks to be an easy out to try and avoid any perceived problem with their air bag deployment system. The authorities arrived at the scene and the contact and the passenger were treated by the paramedics at the scene but did not go to the hospital. A police report was filed. Both the trailer and the vehicle were totaled and towed to an independent tow yard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and an inspection on the vehicle was performed. The contact received an edr report from the manufacturer but no statement was given as to what was the cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,093.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that about a year ago, the vehicle was involved in an accident where he T-boned another vehicle that was turning in front. As a result, the vehicle spun three times but the air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was filed. The insurance Agency company towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who repaired the cosmetic damages. The contact then turned on the vehicle and all warning lights on the dashboard failed to illuminate as the dashboard becomes dark to the point where the contact can't see. The contact also stated that the rear windows worked however, the driver side and passenger side windows failed to operate correctly and the 4 way flasher warning light that illuminates on the vehicle or works properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (tri-star motors 2 superior way, uniontown, pa 15401) where the technician was unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and had someone inspect the vehicle but the failure was unable to be determined. The failure mileage approximately 150.

I was in a head on collision with a Chevy car. This was the other drivers fault as he come into my lane (while taking an illegal left). The car is totaled and my Ram 1500 had close to $14,000 in damages. It is still in the auto body getting repaired. Both the frames are bent. During this accident, none of my airbags were deployed and this shocked me. My body moved back and forth violently due to the collision and absolutely not one airbag was deployed. I strongly believe the airbag system installed in my truck is faulty or designed incorrectly and NHTSA must investigate. Going forward, I do not feel safe in this vehicle as I am not confident that the airbags will be deployed. I've attached few pictures of the damage. We had to pull the entire front bumper from the front left tire almost 12 inches as it was deeply wedged into the tire and we could not move the vehicle for towing. Please help.
