My power steering is not functioning properly. I have to let my truck warm up for an extended amount of time otherwise it doesn't function. There is a malfunction indicator light that comes in and tells me the power steering needs serviced. Sometimes, even after 30 minutes of warming up, it still doesn't work. I have had it cut out and stop working while I'm driving and been forced to drive it without the power steering working. There is no indication when it will cut on or shut off. It has abruptly started working in the middle of driving and nearly caused me to be in several accidents and almost caused me to run off the road twice. This is a known issue by the manufacturer for the same year, make and model as mine, but for some reason I'm told my vehicle is not included in the recall. This is the only vehicle my family has at the moment and this is dangerous and scary. My vehicle should be included in the recall. I cannot afford this repair on my own right now.

Experience: Ongoing issue and reproducible each time driving. Notice "stuck" feeling in steering at speeds over 45mph. "Stuck" feeling consistently reproduced while at highway speeds making left bend, left lane change, or slight left turn. Problem consistently occurs between 10 and 11 o'clock angle. Problem occurs occasionally with right bends, lane changes, and turns. Problem was experienced immediately at purchase of the vehicle (34K miles) but not fixed until 47k miles. Safety Concern: Problem occurs at high speeds and jerking the steering wheel to correct for the "stick" could lead to overcorrection or slippage, especially in poor weather conditions. Unsafe in dense traffic. Dealer: Dealer identified the issue with the rack and pinion. Dealer said "found rack to have internal fault replaced and set toe cn". Dealer mentioned there was an electrical short in the rack and pinion causing the "stick". Inspection: No inspection made by anyone other than the dealership.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 80 MPH, a flashing warning light appeared on the instrument panel and the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The vehicle was restarted, and the power steering functionality returned. The contact then stated while driving 20 MPH, several unknown warning lights appeared on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled. The contact waited 5 minutes before restarting the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and the gear shifter failed to move out of park(P). The contact waited for several minutes and was able to drive the vehicle; however, the vehicle lost power steering functionality again. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V020000 (Steering). The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, and both confirmed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

When driving the truck at times the steering sticks to the left when making a left turn. The steering sticks around the 9-11 o'clock position on the steering wheel and will not return to center unless you turn the wheel yourself. You can feel the sticking when you bump the wheel toward 12 o'clock to return to center. It is definitely a safety issue and makes me extremely nervous while it is occurring. What if it will not allow me to correct the turning at some point it will cause an accident. I've had it at the garage and they said they could not reproduce the sticking when they were driving it. It does not occur at all times typically only happens after driving the truck for a little while >30 minutes or so. I purchased the truck in April 2022 and it has been occurring off and on since.

Went for routine maintenance and was told a front axle shaft retainer clip had failed allowing axle to move away from differential. This was at the Dodge RAM dealer. Car is a 2019. I called to speak to Dodge representative and was told this was a recall issue but not for my VIN. I find it hard to believe that this failure on a 3 year old truck would not be due to a similar issue.

I was pulling out of my work parking lot and right as soon as I-??m trying to make the turn out of the parking lot my steering wheel would not turn. Thank God I was still in the parking lot, but I was not able to move my steering wheel at all, the dealer said that it was a full painting rack failure in the steering column itself along with the power steering. I have to get my whole fuse and everything replaced, including the whole front end pin rack.

My vehicle is experiencing electrical issues that cause major systems to stop working while driving. This includes internal messaging screens, blind spot warning and various other systems failing. The most serious of which is the electronic power steering. It went out several times while driving and I nearly lost control of the vehicle. The first time it happened I was traveling and had to take the vehicle to a non dealer repair shop where they replaced the alternator. This initially appeared to resolve the issue but ultimately the problem returned with a few days. FCA has been unable to determine the cause and my truck remains at a local dealership.

I had a failed 48v battery for the etourque system so the 12v battery was no longer being charged. I had a dispute with the dealer so I picked up the truck and began to drive home. As the generator/alternator for the etourque system was not able to charge the 48v and 12v batteries due to the 48v battery fault, the engine and all systems were running on whatever charge was left in the 12v battery. When the battery began to completely discharge, systems began to fail/go offline. Though the engine was still running as I tried to find a safe spot to pull off the road, the electric power steering failed. Unlike a traditional hydraulic power steering system failure where the wheel can be turned easily at speed and with effort at minimal speed, I was almost unable to turn the wheel at all at over 30 miles per hour. I had to pull as hard as I could to turn at a limited radius until I barely made it to a safe location off the road. The electric power steering system makes it nearly impossible to turn the steering wheel if it loses power. I am a large male and someone weaker or smaller may not have been able to turn the wheel at all.

Three weeks ago, my electrical power steering failed in a parking lot. This locked up the steering wheel going 10 mph. After this, the steering wheel was extremely difficult to move and almost resulted in a collision. I then restarted my truck and the issue went away; however, my steeirng wheel continued to drift and not maintain a straight direction. Two weeks later, roughly 700 miles, the same issue happened again. This time, however, I was travelling roughly 65 mph when the steering failed. A warning popped up on the dashboard only after the steering system failed. This was extremely dangerous because had I not been on a straight road this would have certainly caused my vehicle to crash. This issue was confirmed yesterday by my local Ram dealership. They told me and quoted me that I need to have my "Electric Power Steering Module (Rack)" replaced. The vehicle has not been inspected by Mopar or the FCA, but I did talk to the FCA on the phone--they refused to help. The warning light appeared both times during steering failure, but after the steeirng had already failed--no advance notice.

When traveling at low speeds when turning right the power steering feels like it is going to go out. I noticed that there have been recalls on the 2019 Ram 1500 due to power steering problems. I believe there is something wrong with my vehicle and should be included with the other 2019 Ram 1500's that were recalled for power steering failure. I'm voicing my concern because it is probably only a matter of time before I have a major issue with the power steering.

I was driving on I-75 at approximately 73 mph when my instrument panel lights blinked and then turned off. My vehicle lost all power, I turned the steering wheel about 5-10 degrees to the right and my steering wheel locked. I could not press the brake pedal because it was stuck. I was able to get on the side of the highway where vehicle stopped. Hazard lights did not work, I could not unlock doors, start, or stop the car. When the tow truck came, they checked the battery and it had good voltage. The truck was towed to Feldman Ram dealership since 16 June 2022. I am being told that Mechanics are having difficulty figuring out the problem to this day.

- There's a malfunction with the rack and pinion resulting in the steering wheel to get stuck in a position while traveling at highway speeds. When making a lane change or a left bend at speeds above 45mph, the steering wheel is sticking at about 20-30 degrees from the top. This results in jolting to overcorrect the steering and get the steering components unstuck. - The component is available for inspection upon request. - The problem is currently being looked at by the dealer, but I have not sought for them to reproduce the problem. - No official inspection has been performed, yet. - No.
