The steering rack overheated causing the vehicle to lock up while being driven. Looked issue up online and see this has been an issue and recall for other Ram pickups but Dodge Ram says my truck not covered under recall. I do not drive aggressive nor has this vehicle been used to haul anything heavy. It has 81000 miles on it. Dodge dealership says the electric power steering module has a fault and needs to be replaced but says the module can't be replaced without replacing full rack and pinion steering as well as module for $3000.

This truck as well as multiple others I have seen complaints on multiple dodge ram forums where something is causing the battery to die then the stability control light comes on and the the truck will not change gears until the battery is completely disconnected to "reset" the computer and then it's like the battery never died. It works great with no issues for months then out of nowhere the exact same issue happens once again. We have spent thousands of dollars fixing this issue to no avail just keep replacing parts that apparently aren't the fix. So far we have replaced the torque converter, the battery as well as paying for multiple diagnostics to which they keep replacing the battery saying that is the issue but obviously it can't be the battery when it's getting replaced over and over SOMETHING is causing this draw making the battery die. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS AND ISSUE A RECALL SO WE AREN'T LEFT WITH THIS HORRIBLE TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS AND DON'T NOT WANT TO PURCHASE ANY MORE DODGE VEHICLES BECAUSE WE OWN ALL DODGE VEHICLES BUT NEVER HAVE WE HAD SUCH PROBLEMS AS WITH THIS 2019 RAM 1500 VIN [XXX] BECAUSE THIS IS BREAKING US. The 4wd has never worked in my 2019 Ram 1500. I bought the truck in November of the same year, I tried to engage the 4wd with the snow that year and it would not engage. Notification showed service 4wd, I took it to a ram dealer in South Carolina where I worked out of town they had it for two days and they informed me they didn't know what was wrong with it. I then took it to the dealer at home they kept it overnight and installed a new actuator. It engaged the first time and then back to service 4wd. This time was different it stayed in neutral, I turned the emergency brake on and turned the truck off. The dial tried to return to park but couldn't so with the truck off and Ebrake applied I had to have a tow service pick it up and take to the dealer. I then scheduled an appointment with the dealer I purchased it from and they said they updated the software and it was working. I tried to engage the 4wd in the parking lot and it still showed service light. They kept the truck for two days and said a gear in the transfer case was bad and I had to pay $1,000 to fix it. But the same year truck has a recall for the same issue I'm having. I declined the service due to an active recall. About a week later the power steering wasn't working right. When I was doing highway speed and would turn left it was like I had to fight it back into the lane, but only while turning left. I then took it to a mechanic and he said the truck was clearly over steering from the wear marks and that the R&P looked good no leaks but it may be the rack. So I looked at the active recalls and sure enough there is an active recall for the same year truck for electronic power steering and the transfer case but when entering my VIN it says my truck has zero recalls? I really hope something can be done I've lost my job due to cardiac arrest and used my 401k to pay the lein off just to have all these issues. Thank you

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the rear differential axle seized. The contact stated that the vehicle had seized in the middle of the road. The contact was able to safely get the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed rear suspension and a failed rear differential axle and that the rear suspension and rear differential axle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the rear suspension axle seized again. The contact was able to move the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed rear differential axle and failed rear suspension, and it was determined that the rear differential axle and rear suspension needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle had been at the dealer for six months and the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

I am not sure if this issue is electrical or suspension or even computer related. My car battery was dead after just driving it a few hours ago. I came out and heard a noise coming from the truck that sounded strange coming from under the hood, like something was trying to start or like a long delayed switching sound or airpump (I'm not sure). When starting the vehicle it only clicked and the battery showed low, the air suspension, airbags, safety systems and a lot more all lit up on my dashboard. I do have a video but on my cell phone not the computer from which I am writing this and it is too large of a file size for here. I placed the batter on a charger and it took a very long time to get enough of a charge but still wouldn't start. I had to get mad and keep pressing the start button and letting go on and off and on and off before it eventually started. I have not experienced this issue since but it was concerning to me that all the suspension, leveling, safety, headlight directional systems, etc. had errors flashing or cycling on the dash to be serviced and it killed my battery by having components activating audibly so and just disappear.

Left rear shock absorber reservoir broke and fell from the vehicle. It appears the weldment is defective. Had this happened while traveling at highspeed the reservoir tank could have caused serious damage, injury or death. The uploaded picture shows the left shock above with the missing reservoir tank. The right shock has the mfg information.

On October 27, 2021 I was pulling into a parking lot at extremely low speed and upon turning heard a pop noise and felt a minimal jolt in the steering wheel. Letter in the day as I was leaving I turned right to come home and had the same experience. The next morning same thing at slow speed turning either left or right. Made appointment at dealer for first available date which was November 1, 2021. I received this from the dealer service team: Concern Critical Customer States There-??S A Popping In The Front End Wall Turning Issue TEST DRIVE AND INSPECT FRONT SUSPENSION - PASSENGER FRONT SWAY BAR LINK WORN/SEPARATED DRIVER SIDE ALSO SHOWING SIGNS OF FAILING NEEDS BOTH REPLACED AND ALIGHNMENT Recommendation REPLACE SWAY BAR LINKS AND ALIGNMENT with an almost $1,300 repair bill. I was told this was not covered by my 5 year 60,000 mile warranty and that parts were back ordered and expected not until 11/24/2021. I started researching and located multiple forums that stated this was a known issue. I also spoke to a mechanic that stated this was not normal on a vehicle with under 60,000 miles. I was also told that if it separates it could cause an accident and possibly result in injury or death. My question is why has a recall not been made with this being a known issue. This vehicle I purchased new from this same dealer and had never been off road. I don-??t understand the integrity of the design for a vehicle that is four wheel drive and should be built to perform off-road having this issue with no off road activity ever taking place. Could you please take a look into this since I was made aware that if I didn-??t pay this large amount for the repair it could be a safety issue? Thanks for your review and looking into this matter.

1st problem....steering column rattles loudly in-between 45 and 60 mph and at speeds below 10mph. Trucks front end grinds when making slow speed right hand turns. Also truck lurches, grinds and rattles the entire front end slowing down or backing up at slow speeds....this happens when brakes are not being applied. Sometimes when I drive the truck the steering wheel stays off center to the right and pulls very hard to the right. Chrysler says it possible the electronic power steering rack but they dont have a fix. Gets worse almost every day. 2nd problem....I have noticed the truck has marks where the knuckle and the lower control arm are hitting each other. I understand the need for steering stops but these are not steering stop hits. These parts are structural parts of the truck that are not supposed to hit. Both sides are doing this and I do not feel the truck is safe with this issue and it has caused stressed areas on the front end of the truck. This could cause parts to fail and have serious consequences at any speed the truck is going if they decide to fail. My truck has been to the dealership 4 times and was just dropped off again today. They said they may have to replace the parts that are hitting...but they are the same parts and it will do the same exact thing again. They gave me a 2019 Ram to drive as a loaner and this truck doesnt have the air suspension like mine does. I inspected under the truck and found the same exact issue on this truck. I believe Chrysler has a serious issue with these trucks that started with the design and they are not taking care of the issue. I have a $62,000 dollar truck I do not feel is safe and I am not getting answers to correct these issues. The date below is estimated when I took it to the dealership the first time. This has been an ongoing problem with no resolve from Chrysler

Mild to extreme vibration from rear of the vehicle but not limited to the steering wheel seats and gas pedal at any speed but worsens as speed increases. Was told after multiple visits to dealer that everything is within spec. And they will no longer pursue the issue further. Filed lemon law claim and was awarded compensation and was allowed to keep the vehicle. In my opinion the vehicle is progressively unsafe to drive and there are hundreds of complaints on the same subject throughout multiple forums (over 932 pages on the one I am a member of alone) and we are all being told the same line..flat spots on the tires..we don't warranty tires.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. On several occasions, while driving various speeds and making left turns, the steering wheel momentarily seized before returning to the center position. The contact stated that the failure was not present when making right turns. The vehicle was taken to mcclurg Chrysler Dodge Jeep (located at 125 N center St, perry, NY 14530, (585) 969-3496) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. The mechanic was able to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the mechanic performed minor adjustments on the front suspension and steering; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 3,200.

I let my son off at tsc door, turned to park, and bam!!, loud noise as if I hit concrete. I proceeded to move forward, to only have my truck veer to the left, bumping up next to pole. I reversed slightly and my left front side went down. I stopped. Got out and seen my front left tire down inward, found a broken piece under the front of the truck. Called my insurance sf, was told to call Chrysler because my vehicle is under warranty. Chrysler contacted. Truck was towed to nearest Chrysler dealership. This occured April 9th, 2019. I just bought the truck Jan. 4th, 2019. The broken piece is the knuckle to the spindle, my steering was gone. It sat at the dealership until April 26th, 2019. Having been seen by 3 Chrysler representatives, 2 of which deemed the part defective, the 3rd deemed it my fault for hitting the pole, denying my claim. State farm notified and filed a claim as collision?? transferred truck to collision center to start repairs on May 8th,2019. State farm will not pay for defective spindle, states Chrysler resonsibilty. Chrysler denies that spindle is defective. This is a safety issue!! I was lucky in that it broke in a parking lot and not on the road. This is probably going to happen to someone else and may end up a fatality. Chrylser needs to take ownership and recall these spindles. The new spindles that are about to be put on my truck are notably better made. Obviously Chrysler is aware! for my piece of mind.....I am replacing the one on the right as well. This is out of my pocket to replace those.

On three (3) different occasions between February 25 and April 29, 2019 while driving the vehicle on an open highway, twice on the interstate and once in the city, the vehicle started to bounce out of control and shortly afterwards the alert message came on the screen indicating that I should "service the suspension system immediately". three different times I have had to return the vehicle to the dealership due to suspension problems. Each time the vehicle just started bouncing out of control while driving and shortly afterwards the alert warning message came on the screen indicating that I should "service the suspension system immediately". the first time it happened the service department staff indicated "inspected under carriage and found a ruptured airbag on right rear, no physical damage replaced right rear airbag on suspension and filled with nitrogen. Test drove to verify repair". the second time the service department staff indicated "scanned vehicle found dtc C152-2A/C1562 incorrect operation of pump, right rear spring is broken, due to height sensor failure". this is the third incident and the vehicle has been in the service department since April 29, 2019 (9 days) for the third time with a suspension problem and I have not been told what the problem is and when I will get my truck back.
