1500 Limited 3.0L Eco Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 14,800 miles

Took truck in for 25,000 mile service and dealer installed recall software update. I got it back and drive it from Las Vegas to 2+ miles North of Tonopah. Engine quit. Pulled off road. 106 degrees. Police office drove by gave us a ride back to Tonopah. Called RAM. Truck was taken by flatbed truck to Dolan Jeep/RAM in Fernley Nevada on July 14th. It has been at Dolan for over 10 weeks and Dolan has not been able to repair as of this date. Everyone at Dolan has been great but has not been able to identify or fix engine.

Ram customer care has been useless. Nothing but platitudes from representative in Southern U.S. who says RAM not interested in buying back but wants to fix it. 10+ weeks seems like reasonable time to fix my RAM. Dolan tries everything it can think of but no success. RAM just wants forever to try and fix it and expect me to wait till he’ll freezes over. Owned a 2016 RAM, purchased new like 2020 truck. It was an eco diesel. The 2016 ran perfectly. Sold it and ordered 2020 limited. Purchaser said 2016 RAM ran perfectly until he took it in for service and dealer installed recall software update. After software update was installed engine did not respond when accelerator pushed down but after a few seconds would leap forward which created unsafe situation. 2016 out of warranty and dealer told new owner it would be expensive trying to determine cause and even more expensive to try and fix it. Owner got rid of 2016 RAM.
