1500 Bighorn 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,400 miles

Bought this brand new on March 26th 2020. Now it has 1400 miles as of today May 5th. Started up and motor started rapping bad. Called dealer service department and now have to drop it off overnight next week so they can cold start it in the morning. It's a sinking feeling to spend over $50,000 and have a motor rapping after only 1400 miles.

Takes every ounce of enjoyment of having a new truck right out of me. Beautiful truck, beautiful interior sucked me in. My first Ram. I was really excited when I got this truck. I had F150s before as well as a Silverado and a GMC. Never had this sinking feeling. I want out of this truck asap. But I would take a slamming on trade in so I'm stuck with a payment on a POS. I watched on youtube guys with issues called the Hemi tick after I bought it. Didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. But to have this issue already turned my stress level up to 10.

From what I understand, Ram has known about this issue for literally years. Never fixed it. Don't let the trucks overall appearance suck you in like it did me. Ironically, just hours before I got this tick I filled out a survey about the truck and gave it great remarks. I will drop it off for them to check it out as much as I hate to. But I'm going to guess I'm going to get the old line: Could not duplicate. At best, they will find something on this brand new truck they will have to fix. And that's not a great feeling either.
