While traveling down C470 Eastbound my truck experienced some type of mechanical failure. While on the corner above the bridge for Wadsworth Avenue I felt a sudden loss of control with the truck pulling to the right side of the highway. I immediately took action to pull the truck off the highway while also wrestling for control of the steering to keep the truck from running into the barrier and off the bridge. I was able to bring the truck to a stop just following the bridge (About 100ft). Upon inspection I found the right front tire had folded under itself. It seemed that the upper control arm on the vehicle snapped, pulling out the drive shaft in the process and damaging items like the steering linkage, brakes, tire, brakeline, etc. Dealership diagnosis was: Found right front upper ball joint separated causing excessive damage to the front end components. Only additional work that has been done to the truck was by MOPAR with their 2 inch lift kit, certified by Fiat Chrysler and Mopar for this specific truck. Kit number 77072424 SUSP KIT-LIFT. Dealership did inspection of vehicle 2 days prior to incident with no issues found. I was not able to attach pictures and PDFs to this form

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle, the air ride suspension system malfunctioned, causing the frame of the vehicle to be lowered. The contact stated that the failure sometimes occurred on one suspension, and at other times on all the four suspensions. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. After retrieving the vehicle, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 300. The contact stated that they have taken their vehicle to the dealership several times in an attempt to get it repaired but with no luck. The issue seems to be weather related since the most failures were reported when it was cold out.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated that as he hitched a travel trailer to the rear of the vehicle, the rear springs collapsed, and the vehicle was no longer level due to the lack of support from the lift springs. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact stated he received a recall notification from the manufacturer informing him that the vehicle was not assembled with the proper lift springs and the dealer would replace all four coil springs with the 1-inch lift spring for the suspension of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair and the dealer replaced the lift springs with the same standard coil spring instead of the 1-inch lift spring as instructed by the manufacturer. The dealer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that they could not assist because they were not allowed to change the sales codes on the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was still awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 10,500.
