Truck will shut off while driving. Sometimes will start back up a second later, sometimes need to bring it to a full stop, to restart the truck. It will do it at random no matter weather type of driving, it will just do it.

Win ignition modular suddenly went bad. Can go out when driving. Does not allow key to be removed. Can drain batteries (found this out after replacing both batteries). Fortunately, vehicle was stationary, but left me stranded.

My wife was getting into the truck and stepped on the step board and the board fell off the truck. I was told by the dealer that this is a common problem, but there was nothing they could do about it because I was out O warranty. Luckily me did not get hurt. Twice a week I pickup an elderly lady that uses a walker, if she had step on it she would have gotten hurt badly

The driver side door locked and I was unable to unlock the door in anyway which caused me to enter and exit the vehicle through the passenger side. The truck was parked when the door was locked and then was unable to unlock it. Yes it was a major inconvenience but also a life safety issue if I would have happened to been in an accident or if the truck would have had a catastrophic failure I was unable to exit the vehicle in a timely and safely manner. My major concern was blantantly over looked by Dodge and I was told it an inconvenience and had nothing to do with life safety.

Back in September 2017 I was at work at offutt air force base when I received several messages from the papillion fire department, the la vista police department, and my apartment staff had been desperately trying to get ahold of me to let me know that my Ram 2500, which I had not driven in over 10 days, had caught fire under the hood in its parking spot near my apartment building. My first thought after being completely blown away by the fact that a lightly used truck that hadn't even been driven could spontaneously catch itself on fire was that thank goodness the truck was parked outside and not in my garage. When I got to my truck I saw that the fuse box was melted as well as all the wires leading to and from the fuse box. I had the truck towed to a local Ram dealership and I contacted Ram and Chrysler special investigations who refused to provide me with any details other than the vehicle was no longer under warranty.

Upon placing my seatbelt on I looked at the silver part that is the outer portions of the controls, right next to the 4W dr button and there was a circular actual melted area, when touched was rough/burnt, could see the black plastic underneath. No other areas noted.. took to Dodge, and they state, after having the truck 4 days, they statement as to cause is, " that it is a direct sun burned portion zeroed in thru the back window that heated it up, melted the circular area and is not under warrenty. We have a mega cab, all tinted, was in our driveway which is covered w/tall fir trees. We have lived here for 24 yrs. We are afraid it will cause a fire as Dodge would not look for the cause. The engine light came on & we where taking it in for another air flow detector as this has been the 3rd one replaced, R/T smog gagets. We R both retired and do not take any trips, D/T my and my husbands conditions

When operating the vehicle it will unexpectedly turn off, wheels lock up, steering locks up, engine stops completely no matter what I am doing. As of late this has been happening more frequently. After research was done, it's the ignition switch problem that will cause death or serious injury. This truck has done this on the interstate, hwy, and city streets while driving at various times. This is our only vehicle and is used to drive my 4 children around, ages 17 to 1yr old.

Leaking exhaust at the head. Seems to be a very common problem and numbers of complaints on the internet indicate a recall may be necessary due to danger of asphyxiation.

While driving down the highway doing 65 mph, I accidentally bumped my ignition with my knee and turned off the vehicle. I did notify Dodge of this via their website but did not get a response. I drive a 2012 Ram 2500 and noticed it was not on the list for the ignition recall. I believe it should be looked into, I would hate for there to be a fatality because of this oversight.

3 different instances, while traveling from different road surfaces, cement to gravel, gravel to tar. Seems small difference in road height causes truck to shake violent, and lose control of steering ability.2 of 3 times ended up coming to a stop in ditch. Only after crossing both lanes.thank god there was nobody else on the road at the time. After the second time it happened I went on line to see if anybody else had this happen to them. What I found was that they did and they have a term for it [ the Dodge death shake ]. the after market even makes parts to correct the problem. From new steering links, steering boxes.and frame stiffeners. Makes a person wonder, if they have a term for it, and make products to stop it.what the hell you are doing about it". and why do consumers have to pay thousands out of pocket, to repair an poorly designed product them selves" from lawsuits to lies and everything in between.

Our 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 truck 4 door was parked, upon parking the truck when the gear was put into P the doors unlocked and the key was removed. Went into the back driver side door removed some items closed all doors and locked doors with remote. Left the area for about 1 hours upon return a friend said is that your truck rolling towards the boat ramp. Sure enough I looked over and saw our truck moving picking up speed towards the boat ramp. Luckily if you want to call it that it was stopped by another truck and trailer as our truck swiped the passenger side of the other truck which was the only thing that stopped it from going into the water. Upon inspection by the responding sheriff the doors of our truck were still locked and the truck was still in park no one touched the truck until it was looked at by the sheriff.

When driving at slow speeds ( 0 - 45 mph ) or stopped deisel exhaust enters the cab through the air vents due to a leak under the hood. I have been told that this is normal by the dealer and the manufacture's rep. The truck has spent a total of 35 days in the shop so far, with no resolution. I have tried to lemon law the truck but since the dealer refuses to change any parts, I cannot.
