I had recall N49 / NHTSA 13V-529 conducted on my vehicle, now the steering wheel has moved from the center to the right. My direction of travel is straight, when driving, but the top of steering wheel is now pointed to the 2:00 pm. I asked the larry H miller Ram in Utah, if I could do a buy back and they told me "no your vehicle does not qualify because you had the N49 done on it". when I read the fca V NHTSA it did not say that, it said they "fca" will do a buy back due to the case in question.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving at approximately 70 mph after encountering a pothole, the front end of the vehicle started violently shaking without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the upper and lower ball joints, the front shock steering damper, the tracking bar, the differential gasket seal, and a front wheel alignment needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 165,000.

I noticed for 6-8 mos steering issue to the left, called dealer said nothing wrong. At various times a strange clunking clicking left front wheel area as decelerating and turning left weight to the front. Now choppy tire left front as there are no ball joints it appears tie rod is bad or something. While pulling into a turn the other day August 17,2015 the veh pulled heard the clank again and the steering pull caused us to strike fixed object. Dealer says not affected by recall, but we have all the same issues, and noted for awhile steering at intermittent times problems... what can I do very afraid to drive as we drive interstate often with loads, we need the vehicle but it seems to have the same issue as recall even though our VIN shows different plant, but what do we do just be killed first? help please.

While driving down the highway doing 65 mph, I accidentally bumped my ignition with my knee and turned off the vehicle. I did notify Dodge of this via their website but did not get a response. I drive a 2012 Ram 2500 and noticed it was not on the list for the ignition recall. I believe it should be looked into, I would hate for there to be a fatality because of this oversight.

3 different instances, while traveling from different road surfaces, cement to gravel, gravel to tar. Seems small difference in road height causes truck to shake violent, and lose control of steering ability.2 of 3 times ended up coming to a stop in ditch. Only after crossing both lanes.thank god there was nobody else on the road at the time. After the second time it happened I went on line to see if anybody else had this happen to them. What I found was that they did and they have a term for it [ the Dodge death shake ]. the after market even makes parts to correct the problem. From new steering links, steering boxes.and frame stiffeners. Makes a person wonder, if they have a term for it, and make products to stop it.what the hell you are doing about it". and why do consumers have to pay thousands out of pocket, to repair an poorly designed product them selves" from lawsuits to lies and everything in between.

We just got our 2012 Ram 2500 out of the shop for the steering locking up. The first time we took the truck into a Dodge dealer, greenwood, in gilroy, ca, told us they couldn't duplicate the problem and didn't offer any kind of resolution. The second time we took the truck in, to the same Dodge dealer in gilroy, ca, for the same issue, on July 6th, they said again, they could not duplicate the issue. However, they said they found metal in the steering pump fluid. They said, the warranty agrees to pay for the pump, but the part would not be in that Friday or the following week. We had a camping trip scheduled and asked if it was safe to drive? they would not indicate. We had made an appointment to bring the truck back in on July 19th. On July 24th, service department said, the pump was an upgrade and the warranty company wouldn't pay for the new fitting and hose required for the upgraded pump. We told them to go ahead and replace the pump with the upgraded steering pump and fitting/hose. We complained to the dealer's management and they paid for the fitting/hose and finally gave us our truck on Saturday, July 25th. On July 27th, I heard about the buy back the government is issuing to fca us llc and decided to send you my problem with the steering on our 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel 4X4.

While entering highway and getting up to speed onto I95, truck started to vibrate. I backed off then tried again to accelerate, at this time the steering wheel violently shock in my hands left and right rapidly. I let off speed and it wasn't until I got into the break down lane at approx. 45 mph that I was able to steer the vehicle without any shaking of the steering wheel. I then pulled out again and resumed. The incident has happened a few additional times mostly while transferring from solid pavement to crossing bridges. I made appointment discussing the issue. I took truck in they rotated tires and it was gone for a little while. Now here it is July and the truck is starting to react that way again, mostly while traveling on bridges. The left arm had previous been replaced and still have this issue.

Driving on freeway 55 mph towing heavy duty concrete trailer ( 2 axle 4 yard w/rear mounted mixer) and truck violently started shaking bad, leaving me with no control. Have invested over$1000 in parts alone, with no luck. Now am replacing all tie rods and ball joints $500 (parts alone), to see what happens. Though I have read there is no fix"?" cant sell it cuz I owe 36,000 and it is only worth 25,000. I am 3 months behind on payments cuz I need truck for work to make money, but has been in shop (unrelated would not start) for 3 weeks and $1300 more dollars, for some fuel module B.S. and my finance company wants to know where their money is, and what is wrong with the truck? so I ask them which month they would like to know about. These trucks are garbage!!!! never buy Dodge ( probably why they changed name of trucks to "Ram") some legal mambo jumbo to save their ass. And the government bailed them out for what"??" what brought me here was a search for tie rods, cause I believe that to be my problem. After reading all the complaints about tie rods breaking, I will now replace all tie rods on my own dime, because my life is worth more than $1000 dollars of parts. There is definitely something being covered up. Why in the hell can dealers only get 15 parts (B.S.) a month, but I can go ebay, amazon, (which I am by the way) and have them in a couple days. Cause I am paying for them" is Chrysler that broke " crappy products, crappy design, and guess what, no accountability. Recipe for disaster if you ask me. Up yours Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, whatever name your hiding behind this month.!!!

My left tie rod snapped as I was backing out of my parking spot. There is already a recall on this matter. Writing to you just to get this information out to as many as possible. I went to tri county Chrysler in pottstown, pa to get an inspection to see if I needed the recall work done. I was told that I did not need the recall done, so they entered my VIN in saying they completed the work. So a couple weeks later my tie rod snaps, so much for not needing the recall done. So I get it towed to another dealer and they say yes I need the recall done and do the work. Something needs to be done about this. This is a very serious matter, I could have been seriously injured or could have injured someone else.

Please note that over a year ago I received a postcard stating I need to take my vehicle in for a recall. I have tried to get this recall fixed but all Chrysler dealerships tell me I'm on a waiting list because each place only gets a few per month. How can this be safe" I keep getting postcards from Chrysler asking why I haven't completed the recall fix? please tell me what else I am suppose to do? I have exhausted all efforts with 3 different dealerships to try and get this problem fixed. Why is Chrysler only making a few available to each dealership"

I submitted my original recall notice for the replacement of the left tie rod end (N49/NHTSA 13V-529) to tate branch Dodge in artesia nm on or about January 6, 2014 and was told at that time I was first on the list to be done. I still have not been contacted by the dealership regarding the repair. This is beginning to concern me that they have no regard for me or my families safety.

We received a safety recall notice N49/NHTSA 13V-529 regarding our Dodge 2500. We begin the process to have it repaired in January with our local dealer. In April we finally got in to have it inspected. We do have the faulty left tie rod ball stud that needs replacing. Our local linwood Chrysler dealer tells us, in several attempts to have the work done, that they have only received 2 parts from Chrysler. When we contacted the 2nd dealer they told us a similar situation. We have went from # 7 on the list, to # 31, and now are # 41. When we contacted Chrysler we were told that 5-6 of these repair parts are shipped weekly to each dealership with waiting list. We have found that Chrysler is shipping one part every 21 days to some dealerships, sometimes. They repeat the same "fair distribution" line to us, the customer, and I have no idea what they are telling their dealers. We have not drove this expensive, faulty truck for 8 months because of this safety issue. We are unhappy about the lies of "parts on order".

The dealer did not give a specific date when the parts would become available. The contact made numerous calls to schedule the recall repair and the vehicle had still not been inspected nor repaired. The manufacturer was also contacted and could not provide an estimated date for when the contacts vehicle would receive the recall repairs. The contact stated that the vehicle was pulling to the left upon applying the brake pedal to no avail. The contact was experiencing the failure while waiting to receive the recall repair. The approximate failure mileage was less than 20,000.
