Brand new 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Cab with the Cummins 6.7l diesel. First day bringing it home down our dirt road and over small dips in the road, it starts popping / clunking under the driver's side floor. I thought it was just a one time thing but it does it every day now in the same places in the road. Around 15mph and over a very small 4-6 dip in the road. Usually worse when it's cold. Many other owners (647 posts, 40,000 + views) on the Cummins and Ram Forums are having the same problem.
Been to the dealer twice and still no fix. RAM customer care has a case open but I think it's a case of beer (which they should buy for "me" so I can forget about this !!) because they still haven't done anything !! It's supposedly the frame geometry. I call BS. My wife's little Nissan Versa sedan, along with all my kid's vehicles, go right over the same dip(s) and you don't hear anything.
5 mos. have gone by and all I get are phone calls telling me they are working on it...Working on what ?? The truck is just sitting here !! A $47,000 truck and it clunks !! The dealer and RAM could care less. Very frustrating when a warranty doesn't mean beans. I even bought an extended warranty !! All I did was extend some more money into their pockets !! Will never buy RAM or Chrysler ever again or buy from the same dealer.. An expensive lesson learned.
