problem #1

2500 Longhorn 6.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 132,000 miles

My truck has had to have the cam and lifters replaced due to a design flaw in the 5.7l and 6.4L hemi engines. As I'm sure you are aware this is a known problem that Ram refuses to do anything about, it's called the " Dodge Tick" which refers to the sound of the worn out cam and lifter slapping together. Every shop I've visited has told me about this flaw and they have several vehicles in line for the same repair, it's obvious to everybody that there is a flaw by the shear numbers of damaged engines that experience this failure at around 120,000 to 140,000 miles, my truck has 132,000 miles. I want Ram to cover the cost of repairs, I have it in the shop right now and the estimated repair cost is going to be in the 4,500 dollar range.
