Faults for the ABS (anti-lock brake system) and EBS (electronic braking system) have been coming on intermittently for a couple months. Now the faults are permanently on indicating the ABS and EBS needs serviced. The fault code is c0020-01which indicates the known malfunction involving the anti lock brake system module and anti lock brake system control. While these faults are present the cruise control also doesn-??t work. This is a well documented and known issue with certain model years Ram 2500 and 3500. My truck had approximately 57,000 miles when the faults began.

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated that the Service Brakes message was displayed and deactivated the cruise control and caused the stability and traction control systems to fail to operate as needed. The failure wase self-corrected; however, the failure recurred shortly afterwards. The failure persisted. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the Service Electronic Brake System was displayed, and the ABS, Traction Control and cruise control became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the Hydraulic Control Unit had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not available. The contact stated that the failure had made the vehicle extremely unsafe to operate while towing heavy loads. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,025.

ABS failure warning light comes on randomly. While it is on, cruise control is disabled. RAM dealer examined truck and determined HCU pump needs to be replaced, but the manufacturer will not allow them to order this part as it is on "engineering review" until at least February 2024. Called RAM Care and they said "there is nothing we can do". When pressed for where to take my appeal to, the only further contact given was a PO Box in Michigan. Not being able to drive a truck I paid $75K for seven months is unacceptable!

ABS and traction control lights warn on dash and chime. Very intermittent and my truck only has 14,749 total Miles on it. I understand most of us with 17/18-??s have this issue. I don-??t feel safe having intermittent use of proper braking as we pull trailers with this vehicle. It-??s the entire purpose we bought it. Dealer will not repair under warranty. Need a recall. Repairs cost thousands on these low mile like new trucks.

Beginning in October 2022, the vehicle began displaying "service anti-lock brake system" along with a chiming sound and the traction control light comes on. Cruise control is disabled when this is displayed. I went a dealer while out of town and they said they were well aware of the problem, but the part is unavailable. When I returned home I went to my local dealer and they confirmed being aware of the problem in this year/make/model vehicle, but the part was unavailable. They stated the part would be available in August 2023. August is here and the part is still not available. This is an inconvenience due to not being able to pull my travel trailer or any trailer. This is also a safety concern since I don't have anti-lock brakes. This vehicle has 39000 miles on it. Bought new and sits in a covered garage when not in use.

ABS light comes on screen along with traction control. Immediate loss of cruise control while traveling 70 MPH pulling 10,000 lbs on a highway. If brakes go on that everyone's safety on the road is at risk. I have not had it to dealer but have had a mechanic put his code reader on it. Warning lamps for this were the ABS light and traction control light.

ABS failed, cruise control and traction control are inop as a result. The risk is loss of ABS when traveling, especially on wet or snow and ice covered roads. It has not been inspected by a mechanic. The service electronic braking system and service antilock brake system are having intermittent flashing sometimes it stays on the whole drive. When it does this sometimes the brake pedal will go past the normal range for braking and go almost to the floor before it starts to engage the brakes. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" Yes these parts are available upon request they are still in my truck. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Brakes are not properly working could result in an accident with just myself or many others as I drive mostly highway. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No it has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer. I seem to have a lot of incompetent dealerships/mechanics through my dealings with them having mis-diagnosed my other vehicles consistently. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? It has not been inspected by anyone. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear" Yes there are warning lamps, messages indicating these issues. There was no other problems prior to the failure. I believe it started on 27 July 2023.

The dealership will not even try to put thru extended warranty really be hush hush about this issue. The vehicle can be inspected anytime. There where no warnings signs just started one day with the messages and lights flashing. This should be a recall before total brake failure.

C0020-01-ABS PUMP MOTOR CONTROL - GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE is the code that came up after the dash start flashing between service ABS and service electronic brake system. The TSB says to replace the HCU and the ABS module after checking each one. I wasn't driving far, so it did not affect my safety. I have parked the truck until I can get it fixed. The problem was identified by using a friends code reader and researching several online forums. It has not yet been inspected by anyone else as I have been trying to find the parts and they are on national back order. The one dealership stated they are on national back order until FEB 2024 due to engineering review. Prior to the warning lamps, I did notice that it felt like my front driver side brake was holding the rotor after I would release the brake and start to accelerate.
