ABS and HCU service problems

ABS system keeps coming on and off saying to repair. Code C0020 ABS pump motor ctrl pulls up on scan reader.

I was using my cruze control on the interstate in the rain when I heard dings from my dash and kicked my Cruze control off. It said service electronics breaking system and service abs system. It flashed my abs light and my traction control light. It cause my truck to start sliding and luckily no one was close to me and I was able to gather it up but my brakes did not feel right. From my research this is a very common issue with my truck to the point you can-??t get the part to fix it.

As of 07/10/2023 vehicle Display saying "service electronic braking system" and "service ABS" intermittently. Vehicle is available for inspection. Vehicle has 46000 miles on odometer. upon further research this is a very common problem involving the need to replace the ABS module and HCU to fix the issue. there is a class action lawsuit on this matter. Estimated repair cost is $1700. Failure of these components can cause injury or death. Vehicle is not recommended to be driven with these component failures.

ABS hydraulic control unit failed. less than 25k on vehicle. dash message to service and ABS and traction lights as well. bumps and hard braking seemed to cause this to happen, but originally happened as driving as normal. vehicle was rendered uninspectable by dealership and part was ordered. called chrysler and was told this is a known problem without a recall at this time.

The anti-lock braking system will fail intermittently which disengages the cruise control and traction control system as well as cause an audible chime. When this occurs, it may happen once or many times over the course of a few minutes, stop, start again, or stop altogether to reoccur a few days later. The issue appears to be the ABS control/hydraulic control unit issue others report. Loss of anti-lock brakes is a concern in itself; however, trucks in the class of a Ram 2500 are regularly leveraged as tow vehicles. Losing anti-lock brakes and traction control while towing increases risk significantly. In addition, losing cruise control coupled with simultaneous warning lights and chimes creates a significant distraction for the driver which under difficult driving conditions may prove dangerous.

ABS control Module 68347098AB Electronic stability control unit- abs module 68143491AB Truck only has 78k miles on it and these have failed. after doing research it is a common problem in these trucks but have not been recalled. This is a $1,200 fix and the part is on back order for months due to the issue of it failing.

My and many other Ram 2500s have a TRACTION CONTROL & ABS unit failures. (HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT) Dealerships across the country have no replacement parts and if they do, it cost upwards of $1,000 and in a lot of cases it will fail again. For the safety of our roadways, Ram needs to be put out a recall for this failure.

Truck has 67,000 miles and is currently at the dealership for the 3rd time with hydraulic control unit and antilock brake system modules needing to be replaced. Service ABS and service electronic braking system lights constantly blink and alarm is chiming. Dealership says part is on backorder with no ETA.

The components failing are the anti-lock hydraulic control unit and electronic anti-lock module. While the brakes work, the safety of the anti-lock system does not provide controlled emergency stopping. The Manufacturer is aware this is a common problem that has not been reliably rectified leaving drivers at risk of injury Warning messages began showing in June 2020 at approximately 29.5k miles. Research revealed this to be a common issue with the 2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. The local dealer confirmed the issue and noted it as a common problem. The faulty parts were replaced by the dealer under the factory warranty. The warning messages are showing again in June 2023 at approximately 74.5k miles. The local dealer who previously completed the repairs stated this problem has continued to be an issue and must be replaced again.

When I bought the truck in July of 2022 I worked out of state so I went home (Alabama) to pick it up and on my way back to Indiana (where I was working at the time) and the truck shuts off so I took it to the dealership the following Monday and they told me there was nothing wrong with the truck when they diagnosed it which cost me 300 dollars so I drove it back home and took it to another dealership and they said the same thing So I finally got it into a place that would fix it and it was the egr and the radio that had caused it to shut off but the dealership told me they couldn-??t get the parts in to fix the other thing so I would have to wait so I-??ve waited 4 months and been to 6 different dealerships since then and they-??ve told me that the egr is going out once again and my abs braking module is not any good but none of them can seem to fix it they all tell me that it-??s going to be in the shop for at least 3 months but I haven-??t gotten a call back from them when I leave and they tell me there going to order
