The ABS system failed on my truck while under warranty (around 12,000 miles). I took it to my closest Ram dealer and they -??fixed-?? it by replacing the hydraulic pump associated with the ABS. Everything was fine until about 3 months ago when it failed again. I took it to my local dealer about it and they told me the same part had failed and they would fix it under hood will since it had been with in 3 years. However, after waiting 3 months for a back ordered part to come in, turns out the ABS module failed and it should have been replaced the first time, but since it was not, I am now in the hook for it. Now I am stuck with a 2018 Ram which the ABS has now failed twice within 60,000 miles. This isn-??t an isolated incident talking to other Ram owners and judging by the in ability to get replacement parts and needs to be addressed. Thank you. Vehicle has 62953 miles. Ram service dept says the vehicle needs new engine, pcm, hydro boost assembly, hydraulic control unit, shifter assembly. They repaired the drag link in 2019. This did not solve issue. The tires were being worn rapidly. Ram said they would replace the drag link. Vehicle is drivable but not safe.

Just threw an abs/traction control code "abs pump motor control general electrical failure". I have already replaced my hydraulic control unit in June of last year. So less than a year later the problem happens again. I called for a warranty replacement of the part and was told there has been a stop on the part and will not be available until September 2023. My safety and others safety are at risk due to the heavy loads I haul on a daily basis in the south Florida wet weather.

While applying the breaks the vehicle will deactivate ABS and force the vehicle to slide without control. ABS will turn off and on without warning. While using cruse control abs will deactivate and cause cruse control to stop working, causing the vehicle to slow unexpectedly. This has happed while towing a goose neck trailer causing additional pressure on vehicle when sudden loss of cruise control and abs.

Driving and abs and traction light error light comes on for about 10 sec and goes off. It did this about 6 times yesterday while driving home. Seeing that hcu module or abs module may be shorting and causing the error to come on. I am seeing online many instances where this is occurring to ram truck owners on 2017 and 2018. I just bought the truck used in April. I don-??t know what I should do on this. With less than 50000 miles it seems very bad these units have issues. If there will be a recall and I fix it to make sure I am safe before a recall is done can I get my money back? The contact stated that the parts needed are on back order.

The ABS, Service Electronic Brakes, and traction control warning alert constantly goes on and off while driving, deactivating cruise control as well. It does it all speeds, in all gears, including on the highway, at 70, in traffic. This is especially problematic in the rain, as I don't know if the ABS will work or not. The alert goes on, resets and goes off, then goes on, then resets, constantly. Sometimes for the duration of the trip, sometimes once or twice. This has been happening since September 2022, for eight months now. The anti-lock brakes or electronic brake system MAY NOT WORK; The problem has been confirmed by an independent service center; The vehicle has not been inspected outside the independent service center; No warning lamps or other symptoms prior to this failure.

The HCU and ABS modules are defetive. After calling several RAM dealerships, parts may not be available until August and they will not have enough parts for everyone. When the service light activates, the cruse control dangerously disengages. Annoyingly, the warning may ding 6 or 7 times and I lose the digital speedometer. I will not be able to register my vehicle as the inspection will fail. I do not know if it is safe to drive. I pull a 5th wheel approximately 6 times per year.

ABS light goes on and off. ABS/BRAKE warning with Service Electronic Braking System alert, throws code C0020-01. Sometimes I can drive an hour with no issue then other times it the error will occur many times, on and off the whole drive. Cruise control seems to stop as well. With ABS not failing at random times it's impossible to know if breaking it will be safe when needed. This issue has occurred multiple times (repeatable) and continues as of this report.

The ABS and traction control light is flashing on and off when driving, even though it's a 2018 it only has 7000 miles on it this is a well known problem and is a safety issue. RAM TRUCKS should be taking care of this issue liked they did with the 2019- 2022 modle years trucks I'm also aware of class action law suits for this same problem so that tells me there are many of the same model year trucks having this problem.

-Dash warning lights and audible warning intermittently and repeatedly flashing "Service Anti-Lock Braking System" and along with warning "Service Electronic Braking System". Yes it is available for inspection. -Intermittent failure of the Anti-Lock and Electronic Braking System due to faulty OEM parts is a very serious risk in the event of heavy braking to preventing an accident. Mine and my families lives are at a great risk because of this! -No, the vehicle has not been to a dealer or service shop yet. A quick Google search of this issue shows it is now a very big common problem showing up among thousands of Chrysler/Dodge/Ram owners reporting the issue. I am very concerned about driving the vehicle now because of this problem from reading/hearing some other peoples stories of this common issue happening to their vehicle(s). -No inspections has been done to the vehicle/components as of yet. -No warning lights or issues before whatsoever until Friday May 5, 2023. That is when the dash warning lights starting displaying the issue.

Intermittent failure of ABS/hcu resulting in no ABS, cruise control, or traction control. Unable to find the part in question, dealers wanting nearly $2000 for repair on unacceptable timeline. Unable to haul significant loads with truck (I.e. camper or equipment/trailers). Doing research I found that this is a very common problem with this truck and no recall was ever issued. Hcu parts are now restricted and extremely expensive if one does manage to find one. Class action lawsuits initiated against Chrysler in California. This issue has been known about for years now and should be made known to anyone thinking of buying a Ram. I love the truck but it is unsafe and incredibly difficult to repair at this time causing significant headaches for my family.

My ABS (Anti-Locking Braking System) module on my brakes has failed for the second time with only 26,900 miles on the truck. The dealer replaced the ABS Module and pump in 2020 and just inspected it on May 3, 2023. I was told i will have to drive it as is until it is possibly fixed in August 2023, when part might be available with no guarantee on date.

I purchased my 2018 Ram 2500 mega cab from Grieco Ford in Delray Beach 4 days ago. As I was driving home, the ABS service, electric braking system and anti lock braking service lights came on. Took it to New Smyrna Beach Jeep Dodge Ram, they plugged it in and said the HCU needed replaced and was it n back order until September. I don-??t know what to do.
