My HCU has failed and now I don't have anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, traction control, or cruise control. I have contacted Mopar and two Ram dealers in my area but they just tell me there is no remedy. This has been going on since December of 2024.

I received a recall notice for my 2018 Ram 2500 in November of 2024. It's now August of 2025 and the manufacturer still has not provided a remedy for the recall. I am unable to drive the vehicle because of this recall. I am getting warning lights and tones associated with the brake system. How long will a solution to the recall take? It's already been 9 months!

In early December my 2018 ram 2500 was giving error messages to service anti-lock braked and service Electronic brake system. On December 19, 2018 I took the Ram to the dealer and the cause was the HCU-ICU stating internal electrical failure. They installed a new (Control unit HCU - brake- anti-lock module. It was fine until October 2024 when the same errors (service Anti- lock brakes / Service electronic brake system.) I received a RE-Call notice about the same module (HCU) having issues in November of 2024. I have called the dealership and they have not received a remedy (parts) to fix the issue. The error messages keep coming on Saying service anti-lock brakes- service electronic brake system. Its July 31, 2025 and Still no remedy from the dealership. I signed up on the RAM / Chrysler / Mopar website to be notified when a remedy is parts are ready however I believe it's been too long to wait and appears Im not the only consumer waiting on one. is there any way to remedy quicker I pull a travel trailer and don't want any failures although the dealer said the truck is ok to drive,

In December 2024, I received recall notice C4B for my 2018 RAM 2500 truck. The notice concerned the brake hydraulic unit, which is susceptible to failure. At almost exactly the same time, I started to receive dashboard indicators to check the ABS, but it worked fine, I just assumed that the alert was related to the recall. The recall stated that parts were not available and that I would be contacted when there was a resolution. The notice did not indicate that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Around [XXX], the brakes began making a grinding sound from both sides of the front wheels. I checked the pads, which seemed fine, and there was no scoring on either front rotor. Coincidentally, I got a flat on the left front tire the day after the grinding noise started. It was in the driveway and I was unable to put on the spare until July 12, 2025, the vehicle sat in the driveway with a flat tire until then. After swapping in the spare on the 12th, I planned to get the tire repaired at my local garage. I began pulling out of my driveway at a few miles per hour. I applied the brakes to maintain a slow speed, and the grinding worsened. As I reached the end of my 30 foot driveway and pulled into the street, I heard a clunk, which I also felt through the brake pedal. The pedal immediately went to the floor, and the vehicle rolled across the street before finally stopping. I was able to back into the driveway and park the vehicle without incident. I contacted my local RAM dealer, and they said there was nothing they could do. They gave me the number for Fiat Chrysler Customer Care. I called Fiat Chrysler Customer Care at 800-853-1403 and received case number[XXX]. They explained that a resolution was not yet available and advised me to call a dealer and ask for a "temporary fix". When I told them the dealer had already said they couldn-??t do anything, and that the dealer told me to call them, they suggested that I try a different dealer. I have repeatedly asked the manufacturer and the dealership for a resolution to the antilock brake system failure on this vehicle. This issue has been on going for months and I have no resolution. This is Ram case management # 93024671. My last correspondence is as follows: Dear Stellantis Case Management Team, I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and serious safety concerns regarding my vehicle, 2018 RAM 2500. This letter follows a delayed response to my initial inquiry about the safety of my vehicle and family, which I find unacceptable. Firstly, I request an immediate and definitive anticipated release date for the crucial part that is pending. The continued uncertainty around this essential component is directly impacting my peace of mind and the perceived safety of my vehicle, my family and the general public. Secondly, I demand a thorough explanation regarding the active fault code on a manufacturer safety device within my vehicle, which your company has inexplicably deemed "normal" and stated the truck is "able to be driven." This assessment is illogical and deeply concerning. If a safety device, such as the anti-lock braking system (ABS) or a similar critical component, registers a fault code, its integrity and intended function are compromised. My fundamental question remains unanswered: If a safety system with a fault code is considered "normal" and safe, then why are such sophisticated safety features like anti-lock brakes installed in the first place" If their compromised state is acceptable, why not simply remove the entire system" This reasoning fundamentally contradicts the purpose of vehicle safety design and creates an unacceptable risk for myself and my family. I gave them 7 business days to respond- there has been no movement.

Vehicle is subject to safety recall for malfunctioning HCU. Frequent illumination of Anti-Lock Break and Traction Control Warning Lights with accompanying Chime and loss of Cruise Control function. When illuminated, vehicle rear wheels will slip and braking is degraded. Illumination of Warning Lights and chime very distracting. FCA initially estimated repair parts available first quarter of 2025. This has passed and no updates are available from manufacturer. This is an unsafe condition.and I request NHTSA intercede on behalf of the 300,000+ owners affected and seek clarification from manufacturer on when they plan on honoring this recall.

Logging a second complaint for the brake hydraulic control unit that is already recognized by FCA as a defect that needs to be replaced. I am two years into this failed unit and continue to be told by the dealer and manufacturer's customer service that the replacement part is not available and they do not have a delivery date for this part. In the last two years I have had (4) near collisions as a result of no anti-lock brakes and no traction control. Additionally the cruise control is not active when this part fails and as a long-distance driver this is fatiguing. The contant dinging of the warning light and bell is extremely irritating. The reference number for FCA's recall is C4B/NHTSA 24V-896.

Towing my camper with my family in the mountains during Memorial Day weekend. It was rainy. My brakes failed me SEVERAL times as well as my traction control. To say it was scary is an understatement. I don-??t even want to use the truck anymore. I have had several chats with ramcare as well as a call to my dealership with zero resolutions. Someone is going to get hurt or worse. The HCU no longer works.
