2018 RAM 2500 Laramie Longhorn Megacab. In November of 2023 the Service ABS dash light and constant dinging bell started going off. I use my truck to transport cattle and heavy equipment. I noticed I had NO ABS breaking and it was NOT safe to drive and tow. I took my truck to my mechanic - after analysis on his computer I was told the ABS Module and the HCU both were bad and needed replacement. My mechanic attempted to order parts and was told that there the HCU was available but the ABS was backordered with NO KNOWN AVAILABLITY DATE. I contacted three dealers.... told the same thing... also was told to drive the truck and tow...very unsafe!!!! RECALL!!!!!

My 2018 Ram 2500 threw and ABS warning lamp and code C0020-01, which was confirmed by Key Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Rochester, NH on [XXX]. I lost brake performance on my drivers side. Upon removing the brakes on the passenger side I discovered the pads had disintegrated, while the drivers side pads showed considerably less wear. The ABS system in my truck has failed 2 times in the past 2 years. The ABS module failed at 36,000 miles was replaced in fall 2021 with a "updated" AB part number. Less than 2 years later in the fall of 2023 the ABS failed again at 60,000 miles. At this time I was told that the replacement parts were not available until march 2024. Parts availability has been pushed back and I have no idea when they will become available. I am left with a vehicle that has no function ABS system, stability control or cruise control.

For the second time since the vehicle's purchase in 2019, the Antilock Braking System is flashing an intermittent error stating that the Antilock Braking System needs to be serviced. When the system flashes the error, the antilock brakes, cruise control, and stability control become disabled. The error sometimes will clear itself, and then immediately return a minute or two later. Three years ago I had this same issue repaired once before under the vehicle warranty. At that time, I was told the Hydraulic Control Unit for the ABS system had failed. Now, without warning or reason the system is failing once again and RAM refuses to replace this defective part. Through an online investigation, I have discovered that thousands of Ram owners are experiencing the same defective part and circumstances. Without proper functioning brakes, antilocking brakes and stability control, the vehicle cannot be driven without great risk to the vehicle's operator and occupants, and additionally other motorists.

Occurs at all speeds, in town driving seems to make it ding worse on and off on and off Some days it doesn-??t hardly do it, some days it is non stop. This prohibits the use of cruise control also, with a faulty braking alert the cruise aUto disengages From looking at dodge forums this is a very common issue in 2018 2500 ram trucks. A friend of mine who has the same truck is currently also having the same issue. No one but dodge can read the code or make a repair or even get the parts. They are covering up the issue I believe. You can find tons of people complaining of this issue and dodge needs to issues a recall. The first time this happen was 7/21/2021 at 10761 miles it was the ABS hydraulic control unit/pump motor this was fixed and was under warranty. Now it has happened again had scanner check to tell me what was wrong 5/10/2024 it showed ABS hydraulic control unit/pump motor has failed once again at less than 3yrs. with milage 25027 and out of warranty. This is a big safety issue that needs to be recalled if this is going to be an ongoing thing. You cannot get it to stop like it is suppose to I almost wrecked it the first time and i`m starting to get scared of it all warning lamps and messages came up. this time it first appeared 5/1/2024. It has been confirmed by dealer 5/10/2024. This is an expensive fix and if this is be an ongoing thing then it should be Recalled before somebody gets hurt or killed, I cannot imagine going down a highway at 70 mph and it locks up. Please help with this issue
