In August 2012 the engine warning light came on. It was taken to Dodge dealer numerous times for repair. They would reset saying Chrysler would not allow repairs. In October the Dodge dealer kept the vehicle until a week or so before christmas 2012. The engine warning light has stayed off. However within a few days of the vehicles return, I received a recall notice regarding the left tie rod ball stud....which could cause crash without warning. I immediately called the Dodge dealer. He said Chrysler was not supplying the repair parts. He put me on a list. I have called the dealer many times and he says I am at the top of the list for repairs but Chrysler is only shipping one or two parts for the repairs per month.

Re: safety recall N49 / NHTSA / 13V - 529 on Mar 12, 2014 I received this recall notice. I'm currently wintering in yuma, AZ and about to return to alberta on March 28. The fisher Dodge, yuma confirmed the recall is necessary however they have 200 vehicles on backlog and they receive about one replacement part per week. I then phoned my home dealer (cochrane Dodge) and they have 6 pages of backlog and only receive a replacement part every couple of weeks. I am pulling a 10,000 plus pound fifth wheel trailer at interstate speeds for about 2500 kms. Needless to say, my wife and I are very concerned. The your safety recall letter states "if your dealer fails to remedy this defect...within a reasonable time, you may submit a written complaint". I think several months (if not years) is too long to wait for this steering component recall repair.

Driving on freeway, went to change lanes and then all of a sudden the front of the vehicle started to shake erratically almost causing me to wreck and/or hit other vehicles. Could not stop the vehicle and it started to lose control. Had to come to a complete stop on the freeway in order for the vehicle to stop shaking. I have made several complaints and attempts to have the vehicle repaired but the dealership keeps telling me that they cannot fix and do not have the parts. I have also contacted Chrysler directly and they do not have a time frame for the parts. I explained the severity of the situation almost crashing and their response was "that would be unfortunate". no help at all! said I would need to go on a waiting list.
