On many occasions, the backup camera on my 2017 Ram 3500 DOES NOT FUNCTION when placed in reverse. I had my vehicle serviced and the Dealer said no problem with the camera could be found, but they did check all of the connectors were OK. The problem usually happens on wet or high humidity days, but also occurs during nice weather at random times. When the problem occurs, the display just shows random scrambled signal like a TV tuned to a channel with no signal. I noticed a recall that does not affect my model year. I am curious if the recall can be extended to my model year. The campaign for backup cameras is 23V654.

Unknown. The vehicle while driving will violently start shaking in the front. End. The vehicle shakes approximately 10" or more side to side. I have heard it called the Ram death shake. Had vehicle towed to the dealership. Dealer said they could not find anything wrong. It happened again several time after leaving the dealership. Now I can only drive less than 65 mph.max for fear I it is going to get me killed.

The vehicle had a sudden acceleration problem and the driver ended up in a big crash. The driver is in the hospital with many injuries. The vehicle was taken to the dealer before, at the beginning of March, because the check engine light was on and the throttle control light on and the truck didn't shift properly and dealer said that he doesn't have a transmission mechanic for about a month. They worked on the recalls and the oil and fuel filters change. Afterwards I took the truck to another shop. They changed the oil at the transmission, but the truck showed the same messages on the cluster almost immediately. I took the truck to another mechanic and they changed the solenoids in the transmission, but in a short time the same messages (Check engine light and throttle control light) came on the cluster. When these light came on the truck didn't shift properly so I spoke with another mechanic about the problem and he programmed me for an appointment on August 4th. This date is too late now, because on July 25th I lost the truck in a terrible accident due to sudden acceleration of the truck and the driver could not stop it. The brakes failed and he tried to slow it down driving it against the concrete curve but he couldn't, the truck kept on speeding then he hit a big tree in order not to crash other cars on the road or the people in the driveway close to the place of the accident.

I made appointment with Ram dealership. The letter said 2 or so hours. The advisor stated, it will take all day because I was a recall and they will not have the diesel mechanic stop working on other vehicles for a recall. Which makes no sense since it's not my fault The truck not safe to drive. In addition, I depend on my truck because I use it for my work - hot shot (delivery). I been waiting at dealership for over 3 hours and they still have not even looked at it. The dealership is not prioritizing my vehicle, although it should since I am a customer after all and this is a recall from the manufacturer. Dealerships should be made aware that a vehicle should be fixed as they come in, not based on whether you are paying or not. This dealership always does this when warranty or recalls and it's frustrating. It's not fair for us to lose this much time because we are not paying. How is it my fault the vehicle is defective? After all it was not caused because of my driving but because it was not manufactured correctly. I like Ram but the dealership need to better understand the customer whether paying or not. This is not fair and is annoying.

2017 Ram 3500 diesel. Strong exhaust smell in cab during colder times. The wind is not blowing in the direction where the heat intake can draw the smell in. The smell is very over powering. I have had in the dealership 3 separate times with no luck in them doing anything. They are 'not able to smell it', however each time I start it at the dealership I can smell the exhaust in the cab. The smell continues until the vehicle is at sustained highway speeds. The smell is so bad that the windows must be open.

Truck has a vibration/shake at highway speeds. Initially thought it was tires so I replaced. Problem continued and I replaced tires again. Steering and pitman arm came loose and dealer could not find. I showed it to dealer, they tightened it and fought me on alignment. Vibration continued, front bumper sagged and front sonars became intermittent. Dealer fixed bumper twice and said Dodge sonars are fair weather and couldn't duplicate. Steering came loose again, Dodge fought me on alignment again. Recall came out and welded nuts on steer bar turnbuckle. Contacted Ram service and continued trying to get truck fixed. Dealership became "tired of me" and brushed me off with "could not duplicate". new dealership, kept vehicle for 1 week and returned it stating they couldn't hear any problems. When told the problem wasn't audible they politely told me my truck was out front and I could leave. New dealership, tech went for test drive with me so I could show the problem. Acknowledged that it wasn't normal. After 2 weeks I got my truck back with no documented maintenance or invoice. Problem continues. Returned truck. After 6 weeks Ram customer service told me that it was ready. Invoice showed mileage in and mileage out the same and that Chrysler stated problem as normal. In 6 weeks my truck moved 1 time from 1 parking spot to another. Not enough to change mileage and nothing was done to it. Dealership was short with me when I picked up. Ram service sent my issues to litigation. Was told that truck has too many miles and is normal. Prior to litigation dealership had told me they drove every hd they had and mine was the only one doing this. After sent to litigation I was told that they all drive the same as mine. Currently looking for 5th dealership, still working with Ram service case #57185298. No documentation of 2nd alignment given. No documentation for 2 week stay at stanley

Recently, I departed from home in my truck to head out on errands. I found it was difficult to steer. Realizing it felt like a flat front tire, I pulled off the road and found the front right tire was flat. At no time did I receive any warning from the factory installed tire pressure monitoring system. Looking at the TPMS, the pressure indicated 14 psi, then later 11 psi. At no time did I receive an audible or visual alarm from the truck. Later I had the nearby dealership investigate this, and they reported the system is working as designed, but they can't/won't show me in writing when the alarms are supposed to activate. I have an open case with Ram customer care, but the manager continues to point towards the dealership's verbal answer. Another person I know was recently driving towing a heavy rig when another driver pointed out to them that they had a flat tire on the truck. They told me they had not received any warning from the TPMS. As you know, the risk of a tire overheating and blowing is what TPMS is supposed to help drivers avoid. A TPMS that is not warning drivers after about 10-20% loss of pressure is creating a risk for operators and other vehicles and passengers.

A06 drag link recall: Planet Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Fiat in flagstaff AZ pretended to fix the recall however they did not fixed it properly. They never cleaned the drag link first. They put few dabs of welding material on the nuts and sleeve right on top of dirt and did not weld them together like they were suppose to.

While driving truck on cruise control on Florida turnpike at 68mph, no potholes or abnormalities in roadway. Truck began to shimmy real bad. Nursed the truck home and inspected all aspects of front end and tire pressure. Pressure was set at 80psi per manufacture recommendation for front tires. Took truck to dealership and they advised both front nexen 235/80R17 tires had inner wall separation. The truck has only 5734 miles on it and it is not abused. Extremely disappointed that these tires failed and could have been catastrophic if I was hauling my 8000 camper with family inside of it. Dealership would no let me photo the tires, they said they were in communication with nexen to get them replaced.
