The rear center 3-point seatbelt locks without any occupant and then fails to release. If I do not unbolt the seat belt from the floor, the retractor continues to tighten and begins to crush the seatback cushioning. I have not had more than a few passengers use the center seat, but the belt retraction mechanism should not fail after being used less than a dozen times over the life of the vehicle.

This is for a 2007 Saab 9-3 sedan (non-convertible). The driver's side front seat belt retractor does not to retract properly and fully. The automatic tensioning system cable in the driver's side front seatbelt retractor could have broken. In the event of a crash, the seat belt that has not retracted may not properly restrain the seat occupant, increasing their risk of injury.
