The gear shift would not go into to park, neutral, or reverse, the gear shift to the transmission broke. The steering column fluid is leaking, the front head light went out. The head gasket is wearing out, the car is rusting already on the body. The air conditioning fan is not blowing out cool air or heat. "the transmission feels like it slipping sometimes. I feel so betrayed to have been sold a car that needs so much work when all I wanted was a dependable car to get me to my part time job. Please advise? thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I have a 2007 Saturn Aura. I'm currently experiencing the issue associated with NHTSA campaign number 14V252000 (recall # 13036). Additional to this issue, I'm complaining that this issue could be associated with draining my car battery. Since this issue I have replaced three (3) brand new batteries. I had my alternator checked twice and both test results diagnosis was passed. Which means that my alternator is good and didn't need to be replaced. Each time I have my battery replaced with a brand new battery the life span of the battery is about 3 weeks. After that the battery is dead. If I don't replace the battery and get a jump start the life span of the battery last about 7-10 days before I will need another jump start. Today, August 9, 2014 I again had my battery and alternator diagnosed and both passed the test. I was told by a certified GM mechanic that my issue could be related to electrical system that is draining (killing) my battery because there is nothing wrong with the battery and the alternator. Could this issue (14V252) be the reason my I'm experiencing my battery to died/drain because of my car is affected by electrical system and electronic stability control issues? the consumer stated the shifting cable was replaced twice and the transmission needed to be replaced. Called GM and they claim to know nothing about it.have taken to local GM dealership 3 times. 1st time they replaced brake pedal position switch(did not correct problem)2nd time replaced 2 bulbs that were "dim"(did not correct problem)3rd time applied dielectric lubricant to bas connector, still not fixed.why is there a recall for this on motortrend website dated 5/14/2014 but GM and their dealers play dumb"how can people get this fixed"

Brake lights malfunction on the 2007 Saturn Aura. Depress the accelerator and the brake lights engage - then press the brake and the brake lights turn off... reverse of how they should work. When the brake lights are on they may or may not stay on - it is unpredictable. A recall is listed online (GM recall number 13036; NHTSA campaign number 14V252000). Calling GM (1.800.462.8782) and Saturn (1.800.553.6000) resulted in no help - they acknowledge the recall but have not associated vins or released it to dealers. This is a safety issue. The recall needs to be released immediately and when vehicles are identified to have this issue they should be cleared to be fixed immediately under the warranty.

The first time I noticed my brake lights illuminated when I didn't have my foot on the brake was while driving on the garden state parkway. I was passing through the toll booth and began to accelerate when I noticed through my rearview mirror that my brake lights were on. I stepped on the break and the went off. I must say because feared it would be a costly fix I ignored it for a long time until I saw another Saturn Aura with the same issue. I drove behind the elderly woman until we both at a traffic light and I pulled along side her to inform her of what I saw. I also told her my car was doing the same thing. She thanked me for telling her a drove off. I took my car to a mechanic who told me he did believe it was a electrical problem but could be absolutely sure until he was able to keep the car for the day. Again not really in a position to fix what may be costly, I continued to drive. Finally I was stopped by another motorist and he explained that while driving behind me he noticed the brake lights came on but as we approached the traffic light which was red I slowed down( stepping on the brake) and the light went off until I was at a full stop and my foot was pressed firmly on the break then the break light come back on. As soon as I saw the recall I called my local GM dealer right away and told them what was happening with my brakes and the fact that when I try to move my gear out of park into drive I sometimes have to force it because it seems stuck.they said they would check to see if my car was included in the recall. Well what do you know its not. This I find very hard to believe, that my car would be doing almost exactly what was described in two recalls but my car(based on my VIN#) is not included. I believe GM is tying to minimize their responsibility for the repair of the cars they willing sold knowing they had issues.

A fellow driver waved me down to tell me that my brake lights were "backwards, " I.e., the rear brake lights were on until I hit the brakes, then all rear lights went off. Worrisome, to say the least. An internet search revealed a likely problem with the BCM, with which there seems to be a grounding issue. I took the car in for service, and they were able to fix this issue. Other items have come up over time: No response to the remote control to unlock the doors (other buttons can be intermittent). Cruise control disengaging while driving, or cruise not setting at all; doors not locking/unlocking when the car is shifted from park to drive or vice versa; and the newest: The auto window on the driver's side every once in a while will not work, even though the lever is set to auto (resetting does not work; sometimes it will re-engage if the car is turned off for an hour or so, sometimes not). While most of these are "quality of life" issues with an older car, one should not have to maintain constant surveillance of the cruise control and/or rear brake lights and hope that an accident does not occur. Thank you for your time.

10/15/2010- brake light stays on when driving, and turns off when brake is applied. Tom bannen Chevrolet replaced the internal fault switch under warranty. 11/04/2010- brake light stays on when driving, and turns off when brake is applied. Tom bannen Chevrolet applied diolectric grease to connector pins under warranty. 9/13/2012- brake light stays on when driving, and turns off when brake is applied. Tom bannen Chevrolet calibrated the brake pedal position at my cost. 11/13/2013 brake light stays on when driving, and turns off when brake is applied. Tom bannen Chevrolet now states that they "think" it is the body control module. This has been a persistent problem with this car, and this issue is well documented with Saturn Aura's. this is a major safety issue with these cars, and will end up in someone getting rear ended.

Brake lights come on when foot is off the brake pedal. Brake lights will only turn off it pedal is tapped but brake lights will again come on a short time later 10 seconds +/- without foot on pedal. Also the cruise control will either not engage or will disengage on its own. The brake light problems is obviously dangerous. I've talked to several other people who have this same problem with the Aura, G6, Malibu build platform. Please issue a safety recall.

This is my 2nd complaint regarding the brake lights on my vehicle. 1st incident occurred in the evening when I noticed the brake lights were not working properly. They were doing the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do. When accelerating, the brake lights were lit up....when pressing on the brake pedal to notify those behind me that I would be slowing down and/or coming to a complete stop, the brake lights would not illuminate, therefore, potentially causing an accident.. 9/24/13- I contacted grossinger Chevrolet in palatine, il & scheduled to bring my car in that same morning for evaluation & possible repairs. I just purchased these vehicle mid-August 2013. A diagnostic test was done & repairs were made to the tune of close to $1,000! was told the issue was BCM related & the extended warranty company wasn't going to cover this, which is another issue I am addressing. Not 2 weeks goes by & it's happening again!! I immediately called grossinger, spoke to the same service manager that took care of me the last week of September - he knew I would be calling & said verbatim, "the mechanic that repaired (or I thought) your vehicle told me you would be returning for the same problem"... since then, there's been 3 other instances in which other drivers made me aware my brake lights weren't working properly - again, all instances above, the brake lights were doing just the opposite of what they're supposed to do, the most recent being today, 10/13/2013. Please reference my initiaticket # [xxx], "IVOQ" from 9/24/2013. Enough already - stand behind your words!! "keeping you safe" - "our engineers and investigators look into problems you report to help ensure you and others stay safe on our nation's roads and highways." There's nothing safe about malfunctioning brake lights! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The brake lights come on when no one is stepping on the brakes and the high-mount stoplamp will work sometimes and not other times. This problem seems similar to the problem that prompted GM to recall the Pontiac G6 (the "sister" car to the Aura) in 2009. I don't know how long this problem has been occurring on our car, but we first noticed that the brake lights were on when no one was stepping on the pedal this morning. My wife normally drives the car and stated that she has experienced problems where the cruise control would not set (she has experienced this problem for several years already). It would make sense that if the brake lights are on, the control module would not allow the cruise to be set.

First noticed cruise disengaged while driving and would not re-engage. Cruise corrected itself after trying it after several miles. Second, a few weeks later, cruise quit functioning again, this time I noticed the brake lights were on while not touching brake petal. When applying brake petal the brake lights go off, and then they will come on when the petal is released. Drove 60 miles this way in the dark. When I reached destination it was dawn light and car was running in park. The brake lights were off and running lights on. When I hit brake petal the brake lights would function as normal. I don't know if cruise was working since I was parked. Personal thought; could brake light issue only be related while the auto headlamps are functioning? my investigation led to many hundreds of complaints around the internet about all of the same problems happening at the same time on Saturn Aura, Chevy Malibu, and Pontiac G6. Ie brake lights operating in reverse of intended design, cruise control not working, and also transmission not shifting into or out of gear by the selector leaver. However, I am not noticing a shifter issue at this time. Huge safety hazard that the brake lights are functioning in reverse of normal design. However, all of the symptoms seem to be related and happening at the same time. I also found a technical bulletin no.: 08-05-22-009 with all of these related problems. Please finish investigation and move this to a recall!

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Aura. The contact stated that the brake lights would illuminate when the accelerator pedal was not being depressed and they failed to illuminate when the brake pedal was being depressed. In addition, the brake lights would illuminate sporadically and independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test however, they were unable to duplicate failure. The failure was not reported to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 3,000. The current mileage was 40,000.
