Was driving, heard a loud noise and then the seat had a funny tilt. The motor for the seat made a very strange noise and but would awkwardly move the seat. Took car in 2 days later and they told me the frame of seat was broken. A weld had popped. Seat no longer sits still but slides around making it VERY DANGEROUS to drive. In fact, I can't operate the car safely at all.
Dealer said it would be $1000.00 to fix so I thought I would look on line for parts. That's when I found out I was definitely not the only one with this problem. I'm sure the safety commission for the government would love to hear about this. Has anyone had any help from GM regarding this issue? Can't really drive the car in this condition since a driver's seat that moves while driving is truly a safety concern.

My driver side seat's frame broke for no reason. There should be a recall. I have seen 12 reports like mine. The whole seat needs to be replaced. I don't have the money for new one. I will probably have to get a used one. I take very good care of my car. This should be another one of many recalls on the Saturn.

I was driving my 2008 Saturn Aura on the highway ,came upon a curve .The seat broke leaning to the right and back towards the console in the middle of the car. My drive home was terrible the front left side of the seat was broken giving me a rocking motion stopping and going it was not a safe drive after a further inspection the seat wields were bad. The dealership said it did not fall under my warranty. I believed it to be auto manufactures mistake my car has never been wrecked to cause the seat to give way like it has. So guess it's out the pocket again. The main thing is no one was hurt, but there is a possibility.

My wife's 2008 Saturn Aura has become the proverbial "lemon". 75000 miles. Rebuilt transmission June 2016. Tranny coolant line November 2016. January 2017 my wife complained about a loose seat . I took a quick look and initially thought this would be a safety issue. Returned it to our locale Chevy dealer we have used since Saturn be gone. Turns out they wanted $1500 to replace. My wife out of town this week allowed me to return to dealer and see about a better answer. All I received was the "shrugged shoulders" response. Today I removed the seat, Very easy 2 bolts on the back. One of the electrical connectors was a bit tricky. I returned to dealer with seat in hand and ask if they would swap it with new. No Joy.! I will bring to friend for re-weld on Monday, and report back. Mine had 2 broken welds. One on front right and back right. I will take photos for report back.
I also added a complaint to GM Saturn on line and earlier this evening I received a return call from a foreign CSR I could barley understand. The call ended with me being told this was not a recall and I was SOL.
I be done with GM forever. I hope anyone reading this will agree with me and avoid GM products. I hope the DIY weld works since I want to trade this POS in and I need to at least have the dealer test drive without the loose seat.

Update from Feb 27, 2017: Had broken welds on seat re-welded today. Seat back in and working fine. My friend added a large fillet on the weld to cover more of the thin wall tube it was welded to. It looks like its better than new. I went back to dealer and told them I an done with GM forever for not fessing up to this terrible issue. I feel better.
