The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Aura. While driving at a low speed, the contact heard a noise coming from the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the power steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure persisted and the vehicle was taken to another dealer who diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,988.
