This is about the IGNITION, when the car is turned on " THE KEY " can be " REMOVED, while RUNNING " !! AND, very easly , WITH A WHOLE LOT of PLAY, the "KEY" just slides " in and out " of the IGNITION SWITCH !!! AND, if I AM NOT MISTAKEN, there has Already Been a RECALL on " THIS ISSUE".! I just don't know if the previous owner already tried to have the problem resolved or not but i will to looking to the matter, ASAP ! !!!!!!......... Will I FALL VICTIM, to the MANY LIVES ALREADY TAKEN ??? "" My Prayers Do Go Out To All The Families whom Have SUFFERED A LOSS" "........... And the reason I haven't included " ANY PHOTOS " with My Complaints is, because I DON'T KNOW HOW TOO !!!' ..............BUT, I do have a friend that I will have her show me how and UPDATE at a LATER TIME>>>>>>> THANK YOU

CHECKED WITH GM TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. TOLD THERE WAS NOT. SATURN NO LONGER EXISTED WHEN STEERING PROBLEM OCCURRED. HAD TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET WITH NO HELP FROM GM.

I'm really f*cking lucky on this one.
Driving home from work the steering began to clunk and click allot worse than it did before (It always had a little click and a moan when steering hard) just before leaving there was a loud pop and I lost half of my steering when turning to the right, But I kept driving...
I actually made it home, But as I pulled into the driveway the steering completely failed and there was no control of the vehicle whatsoever. I just think I'm so damn lucky it didn't fail while going 90kmh down the highway on a turn.
Bought a remanufactured rack and pinion assembly from benson's auto parts for $300 (There was a small core charge)
Looks like the bearing on the pinion gear shaft fails and the balls drop down into rack, causing it to jam up or even force the pinion away from the rack, making you loose control.
