Since the day we purchased the car, brand new, we've had a problem with the ignition key getting stuck. It was returned to the dealer a minimum of 10 times yet they claimed they couldn't find a problem.
Fast forward, problem got worse after recent ignition switch recall and repair, took car back again only this time we have finally received a complete diagnosis of this very annoying problem, and I'm quoting the Chevy dealer who took over the Saturn warranty work, "performed diagnosis and found the switch in the floor shifter is not making contact..." and that is why we can't get the key out after shifting into park.
Shocking, all these years, all the trips back to the original dealer and they couldn't find anything yet the new dealer found it on the first look and therein lies the problem, to fix it they want $500+. This should have been fixed way back when. I find it hard to believe we're the proverbial "Lone Ranger."
