Electric power steering assist failed while driving home from work. Driving 65 MPH on toll road, simultaneously there was a click sound in the steering column, a Warning tone sounded and the Electronic Power Steering notification showed up in the DIC. When I stopped at the first red light getting off the toll road I turned the engine off and restarted it and the power steering was back on.

The steering column locked up. after research we found out the extremly expensive repiar was covered under a recall. The only positive thing to report about owning this vehicle.
