On 1/9/10 the wiper motor failed while driving on a highway at about 50-55mph during a rain storm causing the wipers to become entangled. The car was serviced and the part was placed by the appropriate Saturn wiper transmission, which failed on 1/18/11 under the same conditions.

Drivers side windshield wiper has broken off at the base. No snow in area that would overload. I have heard other similar problems with this model.
