Ion 2.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 94,000 miles

I have a 2006 Saturn Ion 2, with approximately 94,000 mles. Ever since I have bought the car, at random times, the low engine power light comes on with the check engine light. This means that I have to turn the car off and wait about 10 minutes and restart the car. Before, it would happen just once in a great while. Now, I can not drive it once w/o it happening and it's becoming dangerous. One time recently that it happened, it was 2 freeways merged together and I nearly got hit.

The code that it throws is that it is the accelerator pedal senor and it has been replaced 6 times. This last time that we replaced it was the first time that we had to pay for it. And when it didn't work, my husband had the charging system checked out and it showed a bad alternator so we had this replaced, and low and behold that didn't work.

I'm at my wits end.. The dealer (the only certified Saturn service in a 250 mile radius) only wants to replace the sensor again (keep in mind it's been less than a week since it was alst replaced and they want me to pay for a new one.. blood h*ll I just paid for this one) I can't find anyone willing to do what it takes to figure this out. I can't afford to keep throwing money away on it nor can I afford to replace the car..
