The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Ion. The contact stated that the bar fractured that held the trunk open. As a result, the trunk lid struck the contact in the head and right hand twice. There were no injuries. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 61,000.
