Car had a small exhaust line leak in back when I got this car not long ago. Parked it in my garage and when entering garage next day thought the odor smelled more like un-burnt gasoline and not like a smelly exhaust leak smell. Noticed the fuel consumption was quite high and considering I was putting super fuel in it after driving in rainfall, I noticed what appeared to be gasoline traces near passenger rear side.
Turns out problem is identical to recall for fuel pump delivery issue. Line connected to fuel pump corroded and punctured, need to replace pump and remove fuel tank. Local garage mechanic says well known problem, he says most GM's fuel lines rot and split open.
