My saturn ion 07 will NOT start! so I call GM and they tell me its the ignition switch.. a known problem with most saturn ions! I ask if theres a recall so I dont have to pay to fix it the issue seems how its a manufactur issue but nope..of course not! So im lookin at 550$ to replace it. What happens is I try to start my car and get nothing.. words like track, colant, ect. pop up in the mileage box and after 10min it beeps and the mileage comes on and I have to turn my key back to the off position for 15+ seconds and then it will start! its sooo frustrating! is there anybody who knows where I can complain so that maybe someone can look into the issue and possibly start a recal! and for all ion owners I want you to know that i have confirmed a powersterring recall as well as a fuel pump and the interior light! get it fixed!! also if you have onstar there is some sort of recal on that as well!

well very upset that the ignition switch fails on this car. But first you need to sink hundreds of dollars into finding the problem like replacing the battery, having car towed. My daughter is away at college and one day car does not start...umm had to have it towed home to find out what the problem was. first we replaced the battery..NOPE not it 125.00 gone.... Then after doing some reasearch online we tried putting in a new ignition switch poof that was it. so the part was only 35.00 great but then what i am a female and was not even going to attempt to do this my self . Did not have the funds to have it towed wo dealership, pay 100 for diagnostic testing and god knows what else so i found someone to replace the switch for 150.00. great... complained to GM...got the run aaround and then was told they would not give me a cent because i did not go to the dealership...WHAT? really the bill would have been 600.00 or more. One would think that since hundreds or thousands of people have had this happen a recall would have been in place, they admitt to know about the problem...something has to be done....this car has been a nightmare from the get go, from whole car smelling of gas, to power stearing failing while driving it. It is just not a safe car at all for no one.....
