Goodyear assurance tire treads separated on 2007 Saturn Ion. While driving, the vehicle began to handle improperly. A few seconds later, the consumer felt something quickly whip around the front driver's side tire. The tire was not flat and there was no obvious damage that could be seen. When the consumer reached his destination, he discovered an 18 inch long and 2 inch long wide portion of tire tread was missing. The consumer was informed the tire was defective.
