My wife loves this car. We started having oil consumption issues last year. Her father worked for saturn and said it was fairly normal, but it got worse. Front of engine was clean and no puddles underneath so we figured that oil was getting by the rings. This winter the engine vibration picked up so we elected to do an engine rebuild. After pulling the head, we noticed standing oil in the number 3 and 4 cylinders. Pistons and head show excessive carbon build-up. Number 3 and 4 piston oil rings are locked up on the pistons. Block, cams, are good. Head is true, just needs cleaning and valve job. Crank was turned 0.10.

Will try to remember to post update when engine is back in the car. Intend to replace all sensors while it is out as well as install new torque and motor mounts.
