During typical daytime driving, the instrument panel is not readable. I need to turn on my head lights manually during the day to see how fast I am going. Review the picture to see how dark the instruments are during driving. General Motors needs to apply tsb #06-08-49-016 (NHTSA: 10020735) as a recall to resolve this problem.

The instrument cluster is set deep into the instrument panel for styling purposes. As a result, the gauges are very dark and cannot be read during daytime driving. GM should make a software patch available to turn on the back lighting to the gauges day or night when the ignition is turned on. Other vehicles are setup this way. The Saturn Sky should too. How can I drive safe when I cannot see how fast I am going?
