About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
After driving to work I parked my 2004 Saturn Vue and reached for the keys to turn off the engine. When I touched the key it fell out of the ignition switch with the engine still running. When I investigated further, I found I was able to insert and remove the key repeatedly and without force while the engine was running and the ignition switch was in the run position. I shot a video of this which is viewable at youtu.be/rvemlyqxpp8&feature=youtu.be.

Ignition key fell out of lock cylinder while was running. This is dangerous because if I ever need to shut down the engine and the key were to fall out I'd be in trouble. Lock cylinder sticks and I can barely turn it to start sometimes. This car has only 40,000 miles!

Ignition switch unable to rotate to start vehicle on 2004 Saturn Vue. Dealership charged 75 dollars to clean ignition switch, and says they get 3 or 4 complaints a week for the same thing. Is this a Saturn problem or a personal problem? I've had cars 14 years old and never experienced this before. Now in two days, the dealer has had 7 Saturn Vues come in with the same complaint, from 2004 to 2007 models.
