Vue

  • 100,000 miles
The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that the key was difficult to remove from the ignition switch and hard to turn into the on position to start the vehicle. The contact replaced the original key as a temporary remedy and was able to start the vehicle. In addition, while traveling approximately 40 mph, a metal piece and spring fractured when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact also heard a clicking sound upon starting and turning off the vehicle. The battery was replaced by a repair shop and later the alternator was replaced, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that there was a loose wire and the ignition cylinder needed to be replaced. The technician indicated that in order to complete the repair and find where the spring came from, the ignition cylinder would need to be removed. The ignition switch was not tightly connected. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
