Our 2006 Saturn Vue was purchased from a Saturn dealership with just over 36000 miles on it and had this airbag light problem when purchased. We didn't know it was a problem until after we had it for a while. The passenger airbag light is in the off position almost all the time and once in a while when an adult is in the seat will switch rapidly back and forth but only on momentarily. The airbag light on the dash cluster is also illuminated when the passenger light is in the off position.

I own a 2006 Saturn Vue. The passenger airbag "off" light remains illuminated or toggles between off and on when there is an adult in the passenger seat. This seems to have nothing to do with the posture of this person or their weight. The light (indicating air bag off) is usually lighted when there is a passenger in the seat. Vehicle was purchased used from a non GM dealer who states there are no trouble codes. Obviously I do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle.

My wife's 2006 Saturn Vue went out of control on a rainy road and hit a tree at direct impact. The airbag never deployed. Thank god she and my son wasn't killed and only suffered minor injuries.

The front passenger seat airbag is disabled at approx. 160 lbs. Otherwise the system appears to work correctly. Over time, either the sensor or the seat structure has changed and now leaves the passenger at risk even though the passenger is clearly an adult! the auto is out of warranty and the dealer requires payment even though this is a critical safety problem.

When an adult is seated on the front passenger side, the passenger side airbag sensor flicker on and off. I have received an onstar diagnostic indicating an air bag failure. It does not matter if there is anyone in the seat, the air bag warning lights continue to come on and off. This occurs every time vehicle is operated. I have taken this vehicle to Saturn dealership where purchased and they charged me $190 to diagnose the problem and quoted an additional $1200 to fix. Since this problem has been widely reported on various websites, I believe it is a recall issue and Saturn should pay for repairs.

The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. While idling at a red light, the contact's vehicle was struck head on by another vehicle traveling approximately 50 mph. None of the air bags deployed in the contact's vehicle. She notified the attorney general, manufacturer, and the center claims division. She researched several complaints on the same component for her vehicle. The contact sustained major injuries to her neck, back, and knee and is currently in physical therapy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure and current mileages were 62,000.

December 20, 2008 - driving a 2006 Saturn Vue - I was sitting at a red light in the South bound lane of route 1 - intersection contee road. When another vehicle traveling North bound route 1 - intersection contee road drove in the South bound lane of route 1 at a speed of 50-55 mph and hit my 2006 Saturn Vue (that was stopped) head on collision (frontal). The airbags in the 2006 Saturn Vue did not deploy on the drive nor the passenger side. Injuries were sustained in this accident. This vehicle is equipped with four (4) airbags that did not deploy. The 2006 Saturn Vue is not repairable - total loss. There has not been any indication or warning lights that the airbags were not functional.

2006 Saturn Vue airbag warning light is on. When an adult is sitting in the passenger seat this indicator says airbag is off. If you hit a bump sometimes the airbag on light comes on and the warning light goes off (normal condition) but soon after reverts back to the airbag warning light and passenger airbag off light on. Manual says that airbag could deploy for no reason if the warning light is on.
